/fit/ opinion on powerbuilding?
>>76802700Power is a training subtype that should honestly be reserved for athletes that get millions of dollars to destroy their bodies for life. Ruining your joints, cns, and spine for a good 15-20 years of powerlifting (on the very generous side) just doesn't seem worthwhile, when you can simply lift for strength and endurance building in a higher rep range and make gains through progressive overload without stressing your body to nearly the same extent. Most people don't know there is a difference between "max strength training" and "power training."

>>76802722>PowerPower = Force x Velocity"Powerlifting" is a misnomer since velocity is irrelevant. An extremely slow, grindy lift is still a very valid competition lift. The actual focus of the sport is maximal force generation (i.e. strength).Olympic weightlifting is the actual power sport since velocity matters a lot there.>when you can simply lift for strength and endurance building in a higher rep range and make gains through progressive overload without stressing your body to nearly the same extentYou're essentially clueless as to how powerlifting training works.
