I think you’re confusing emotional cynicism with social intelligence. The idea that only “non-autistic” or “high IQ” people can “see through” others is laughably self flattering. It’s what people say when they need to feel smarter than everyone else.

People build “nice” personas for a hundred reasons.

And for the record, autistic people often notice subtle behavioral inconsistencies better than neurotypicals. They just don’t always perform the same social theater around them like normalfags do.

Poirier is a genuinely nice guy by all accounts. I'm sure like anyone he's made some enemies but everyone in the business seems to have a lot of respect for him, even past opponents. Also wouldn't call either of them gatekeepers. He was interim champ and had a few attempts at undisputed, just got bested by two generational talents and one submission expert.

Chandler is a low level scrub, a fake nice guy, and an all around piece of shit that gets no respect from his peers. One of the most blatant cheaters of all time who's best win is 2011 Eddie Alvarez.
