Apparently all squatting is bad for your knees, no matter the depth, and nobody can quite prove any depth is better than the others, so throw that out the window.

I do atg just because I want to be able to move my body. I hate squats no matter what, but if I'm going to do them I might as well be getting the mobility gains too.

I'm the same. I treat squats as a weighted mobility exercise. I'd rather use deadlifts as the big strength movement.
