I was doing ~1000cal daily deficit, lifting and cardio.

it fucking sucks. its brutal. but its also really worth it in the end. next time im not going to do 1000 because thats psychotic and I probably lost lean muscle. 500 sounds like heaven.

It does, for people who are literally starving prisoners of war, not retarded fatties who skipped 3rd breakfast. It's not magic though. Bodies in starvation mode (i.e. exposed to dangerous levels of calorie deficit for months) do so by shutting things down so you literally cannot function normally. Like, if you are not losing hair due to malnutrition and your fingernails are purple, you're not in starvation mode. Fucking forget about lifting at that point.

Metabolic damage is a separate issue. There is 100% a starvation mode and I just described it. You can bounce back from it as many prisoners of war did. Just because most people are retarded doesn't mean you have to be extra retarded.
