>Italians eat pasta all the damn time
>have some of the highest life expectancies in the world
>so high it's actually detrimental to their society
Yeah but keto's a good idea lmao
>>
>>76864633
The pasta we eat, like most other foods, isn't the same you'll find outside of Italy.
Since we eat so much of it, we have purity laws for pasta. The grain used can't have as much mold as in other countries, that's gross and we eat so much of it we'd literally die.
We have similar quality laws for most food, it stands to reason we live longer.
>>
it's genetics
>>
>>76864698
>our semolina is better than your semolina!
We eat pasta imported from Italy
So they make one batch for Italians and one to export?
Sounds inefficient as fuck
>>
>>76864633
Carbs are law but as pizzanon >>76864698
said the ingredients that you'll find in Italy/Spain/Portugal/Greece are of a far higher quality than what you'll find in the Anglosphere. Almost every single individual in the Mediterranean has at least some family-owned olive trees guaranteeing that he has access to olive oil that he knows is the highest quality, instead of trusting jewish multinational corporations and buying trashy olive oil or even worse seed oils
>>
>>76864704
how many jewish intermediaries before the italian pasta gets on your shelves?
>>
>>76864704
because i guarantee that your pasta doesn't get delivered on your shelves directly by some nigga named mario directly from naples
>>
>>76864709
Ah yes, the mitm backdoored pasta by the jewish-italian mafia cooperation
It all makes sense now
>>
>>76864704
Like I said, we have laws that make the pasta that can be sold here more expensive to make.
Some brands might just go for quality and sell 'the good stuff' even outside of the country, but how can you be sure?
>>76864707
Exactly, and for oil, to focus on one I important ingredient, a good part of the country ( in the south) just buys the whole year's supply in November straight from the farmers, local and from the freshest olives.
>>
>>76864704
JFL at thinking Italians have anything to do with the jewish abominations your overlords market as "Italian". you literally have Titanium Dioxide, Potassium Bromate, Azodicarbonamide, Butylated hydroxyanisole, Butylated hydroxytoluene etc. in your pasta but yes bro your pasta is definitely Italian made
>>
>>76864728
JFL at thinking that jews wouldn't subvert your pasta for monetary gains because "that would be ridiculous saar what's this jewish-italian mafia coorporation shit" also JFL at thinking that Italians have any saying on this
>>
>>76864704
>>76864728
Hello mate I have some swiss cheese to sell you that is definitely not made in Wisconsin
>>
>>76864728

>>
>>76864743
>>76864752
>>76864755
I'm in Greece you retards, I just find the idea of Jews intercepting pasta along the way very funny.
Italy makes products for their market and it also makes products for other markets that sometimes are of lower quality.
I know that for example for olive oil they buy lower quality olive oil from other countries in the med and mix it with their lower quality olive oil to export to other countries.
I assume if this happens for pasta it either happens in Italy and exported from there or they have factories in other countries that could use lower quality materials since the local laws allow for it.
>>
>>76864737
is this is what it's like to be american? lmfao
>>
>>76864633
Not just Italy. Here in France we do the same - we eat lots of duck - fatty but good fat.
Google French paradox.
Good food and walkable cities is 80% of it though - it adds up.
>>
>>76864758
Good brands, but I have no idea if, when selling in the US, they keep to the same standards as they have to by law in Italy (actually they push to exceed them here, to be better than the competition), or they go just for 'better than the competition'.
That would be much cheaper, but I have no idea about actual company practices.
It would be so much simpler if the US adopted some serious consumer protection laws, at least regarding foodstuffs.
>>
>>76864737
Why are Yuros such obsessed fucking braindead retards?

The pasta I buy at costco, literally one fucking ingredient. Kill yourself.
>>
>>76864633
We have a raising childhood obesity problem though
kids are walking less and less too
in fact Italian kids (that are already so few) are among the least physically active in the EU
nordics for example do much more physical activities... they might be a bit fatter now but in 2 decades when our old Italians die, they are going to be thinner
>>
>>76864820
There are no paradoxes, just misunderstandings from drooling retards. And no, it isnt LE WALKING. You can't out walk a shit diet. French and even Italians do not eat as much carbohydrates as Muttmericans, especially the brown ones. We put fucking sugar in everything in Muttmerica, including our salt.
>>
>>76864853
I don't know how it is in Italy but in Greece for example I blame the fast food culture.
My grandpa would eat very small and simple meals throughout the day for example he would have:
no breakfast, just coffee and water
some cheese and bread while he was working
lunch was usually some local carb prepared with olive oil and sometimes some meat
afternoon snack of some fruit and bread with olives and maybe feta
a small dinner which was usually a smaller portion of leftovers from lunch

No one eats like that nowadays, a few years ago we could get a pita gyro for 2 euros, nowadays there's so many burger places making incredibly tasting stuff and selling portions that would make you full for three days back then.

So I do believe in what is categorized as the Mediterranean diet, we just don't follow that diet ourselves anymore so everyone is getting fatter
>>
It's the thinnest country in Europe, I am going there in 6 months or so it would seem, similar to the French that it really is all about portion control.
>>
>>76864835
Pasta should have egg in it
>>
>>76864835
I mean he has a point. The regulations on additives are extremely weak, allowing them to keep many off the label and keep using many that are banned in other countries for DNA damage etc.
Instead of getting angry at Yuros, why not get angry at your government or lobby organisations? They knowingly poison you and your family.
>>
>>76864871
I think it's more about poverty and the lack of... everything for the young.
Calories are a cheap mood booster.
Where there are more enrichment opportunities for kids, they aren't as fat as in bleak-ass places like the outskirts of Naples or Catanzaro.
>>
>>76864698
>wops are dishonest, greasy subhumans
who could have guessed
>>
>>76864633
It has nothing to do with diet. They are just genetically long lived. My Italian grandma was a morbidly obese smoker with zero exercise her entire life and still made it to like 86.
>>
They also have some of the highest pensions and family members that actually care for them.
>>
>>76865229
>some of the highest pensions
That's shit from the prima republica, that's been grandfathered in.
Right now we're increasing the age of retirement by a year every year, nobody is getting pensions anymore, we're just waiting for those that do to die out.

Thats done for pretty much all foods and drinks. Second and Third world countries always get lower quality products.

Yeah, that's a serious issue.
It's most obvious with the red meat issue.
Yeah, science says red meat bad, and processed meat worse... But what kind of meat are we talking about? Is processed meat the prosciutto I cured myself, with only the traditional herbs, from a pig raised like a pet, or pink slime? What should we actually look out for?

Yeah sure and injuns were gentle geniuses on horseback. I got some magic beans for sale anon, interested?

I am an Italian American, so take this with a grain of salt, but my Italian grandmother used to cook us meatballs, sauce, and pasta every Sunday. A large part of that meal was meat: meatballs, pork, beef, chicken, all cooked in the sauce. I bet if we looked into it, Italians are also eating plenty of meat. I do not care enough to Google it, but I trust my gut on this one. OP is probably yet another disingenuous vegan spreading lies to justify his retarded dietary habits.

Italian anon here living in the UK.

As much as the food quality control is higher in Italy when compared to other countries, like the UK or the states, this has zero effect on obesity.

What I'd say has way more of an impact is:

- People tend to be quite more active. I know shit ton of millennials and boomers playing football religiously once or twice every week. Also ton of people hitting the gym regularly, plus manual labour is still quite common.
- Food portioning: as other anons mentioned, a regular portion of pasta is 100 to 120g. For most people that's a full meal in Italy.
- Alcohol consumption is low compared to other countries.
- Access to street food is very low. People tend to cook for themselves and takeaway is not as big a thing as in other countries.
- Even when cooking, meals are relatively simple. Creams and sauces are not really that common making meals relatively low in calories.

Now, this is based on my personal experience. I'm 38 and lived in Rome most of my life. Can't really talk for other parts of Italy, and my comparison is mostly based on experience in the UK and US.

Also, as someone else mentioned, zoomers and millennials tend to be quite lean, boomers are fucking fat all across the board in Italy.
