Aim for a better job and think what steps you need to get there.
You can apply it to everything else too, relationships, becoming more social etc
If it seems impossible most of the time it's just something you have not put the work in to find how to achieve it.
Also even if you have a plan and stick to it and achieve your goal, you won't really feel it with most things, so waiting for the time to be right is a fool's game, it will never be the right time.

Also another piece of advice that I personally struggled with, if you want to listen, is to try to decouple your expectations from the media you consume, things are not like in movies or video games or what people with no life experience tell you, try to approach everything humbly and with a positive mindset and then learn from your mistakes.
