Anyone know how to deal with injuries mentally?
Going through it during a rough patch and it's really doing numbers on me. Lifting and running was the only thing I had....

Never really had this blend of depression and anger this bad before.

How did you hurt yourself?

got too cocky on a lift

what lift, assuming you haven't ended up in a damn wheelchair its literally a matter of time until you've recovered, your body wants to retvrn too, continue to give it the nutrients and rests it needs and you'll be back one day

One day at a time, u are going to be pissed at yourself and sad u cant progress just yet.
There will be some crucial lesson here (even if its just getting used to injury sadness) but for now it's pointless tryna sugar coat it, just get on with your life outside of the gym & sport.

Deadlift, Herniated Disc. Doc says 3 weeks to a month off. Honestly I feel so angry and pointless fuck man.

Yeah... this isn't my first round of injuries but I'm going through a pretty bad time in my life and this was the straw. I've been pretty much laying in bed moping around. Don't even have energy or find any motivation to do anything anymore.

Bro thats such an insignificant amount of time. Just stretch for now and wait. Mark the day of your return on the calendar and rest. You earned it and nothing is going to stop you from getting right back into form when youre healed. Hang in there anon, it's not forever.

>deadlift
Uh were you rounding your back?, what I mean is, did you kind of know something was "off" before the injury happened, that you couldve avoided it? Or did the pain and subsequent injury come out of no where mid rep. Ngl this kinda scares me too but I like deadlifts too much to stop because its like the only lift im steadily progressing in

Just do anything that helps your training and look at it as training on its own. Recovery is very important and everything is possible if you stick to it, I went through a year of recovery after ACL rupture + operation

Just move any way you can. Try a little yoga. Resistance bike. A rolling stone gathers no moss and endurance is just as important as strength.
