How long did you wear sling? Or you didn't?
>>76872293I am one of the rare people who has shoulder dislocations, but they are posterior dislocations, so I just have to train my chest and front shoulders and everything is peachy. For OP, I am assuming you have had an anterior dislocation.Remember to train your rotator cuffs at a variety of angles. Also, start doing dead hangs from a bar, vary your hand position every few sessions. Also, get yourself a pair of picrelHow long to wear your sling? Ask your doctor/physio.But build up your strength etc afterwards VERY carefully.
Only a few fays after dislocation, then it felt fine to just hang out. Physio was useless in my experience>does it hurt when you lift your arm>yeah a little bit>okay try lifting your arm a little bit then put it back downI took months off gym to make sure it was good, bench was the worst exercise for aggravating it. Took about 8 months to get 99% mobility back. Swimming helped a lot to gently strengthen my shoulder and improve mobility
>>76872293I dislocated my shoulder really bad about 20 years ago. On the pain scale is was a 10, I slipped it back in myself on accident and pain went to 11. Immediately after I took a lot of ibuprofen and the following days it really did not hurt that much. Never wore a sling and too dumb to go see a doctor. Took months before it felt significantly better. After about a year it seemed abou 95%. I was careful about strength training. Last few years I have been doing a lot of mid weight OHP, bench and flys and now its really starting to bother me. Wondering if I screwed up something else.
>>76872925Do these handles not move around (like tilting left and right) on the bar when you use them ? I was interested in the 45° ones but was afraid of this
Don’t wear a sling, seriously OP listen to me. You could get a frozen shoulder and trust me you don’t want that shit!
Sometimes when I do heavy cable rows I feel something move in my shoulder and I think it's the humerus separating from the scapula. A little concerning.
>>76872293don't wear a sling longer than necessary
>>76873856I've not been wearing it at all. It's the 2nd day. I just try to not move the arm.
It's fine to wear a sling, but take it out and use your range of motion when possible (e.g. when sitting down, take it out of the sling and rest your arm in your lap). The sling is to prevent you from going outside your range of motion by accident while doing stuff and damaging anything further while your shoulder is still vulnerable, but as >>76873451 says a frozen shoulder is a bitch. If you can afford a good physio go see one. They can do things you can't do yourself and tell you things the internet can't, look through reviews to make sure you're going to a good one. If not, get on youtube and binge videos on rehab. In particular working near but not quite at the edge of your range of motion, being gentle with weight, and doing lots of high reps with bands for your rotator cuff. If it hurts in a bad way (i.e. real pain rather than muscle exhaustion) stop doing it immediately, don't try to grind out a painful set.BPC-157 is helpful if you're not a pussy but it's best started early during acute recovery. If you're in a sling now your shoulder will likely never get back to 100% without surgery, so keep on lifting and working on posture to stay healthy.
