How the fuck do I do face pulls? How far back am I supposed to lean? I looked it up online and it said not too far back, like a 5 to 15 degree angle, but it feels like when I don't lean like comedically far back I just end up pulling myself forward instead of just the rope.

it will probably be best for you to lie on the ground and then pull and rotate. you can test it at home too with a band anchored somewhere up high. You can also do band pull aparts or doorway rows with your elbows locked outside the door frame and you pull yourself forward
