Been eating this every night for a few weeks. ~12 oz of chicken thighs (cooked on Sunday), a pound of mixed vegetables, about 6 oz of potatoes, small amount of olive oil, low sodium soi sauce, pepper and garlic powder. Takes about 10-15 minutes to cook everything in a big skillet. Looks like slop, tastes good though.~940 calories, 105g protein, 28g fat, 63g carbs
I've been making fancier meals and enjoying them (pan seared tuna, a big veggie mix pasta, root veggie roasts, stuffed chicken) but tonight I got lazy as shit and just steamed a cauliflower and threw frozen meatballs in the airfryer

I had a 2800 calorie deep dish pizza and a diet coke
Im currently in a minced meat and rice phase, today it was chicken thighs with coconut milk and yellow curry, bag of frozen vegetables over rice. Very inexpensive and basically covered everything. 130g of protein
>>76930037I respect being able to put some effort into cooking, I just can't be assed to do it. I'll spend 12+ hours over two days baking and experimenting with new recipes (I give everything away, assuming its edible, which it is 95% of the time), but ask me to cook a real meal during the week and I can't be bothered. Meal prepping/bulk cooking is the only thing keeping me from eating like shit.>>76930065The fat kid in my heart isn't jealous at all.>>76930072That's why I switched to frozen veggies. Maybe not as good as fresh, but way cheaper and won't go bad before I get to them. Shame that god damn chicken thighs are nearly as expensive as chicken breast now. I miss the days of them costing 40-50% less.
>>76930086Yea i used to eat chicken thighs instead of breasts pretty much every time but (((they’ve))) caught on to it When they raise the price of off-brand steak cuts to the meme-cuts level i will cry
>>76930003Same thing as lunch: 336g chicken breast, 250g white rice
>>76930003Cottage cheese and toast. Thought I should eat something, I guess.
fish and vegetables for dinner nuts and cheese before bed ezpz
>>76930003Six eggs, two pieces of sour dough bread, banana and celery with peanut butter.
Cottage cheese, raw onion, olive oil, salt
let me guess, you need more?
>>76932795Could probably do without the cheesecake, but you do you.
>>76930086>>76930096How much are your chicken thighs and breasts
>>76932798Last week they were $3.12/lb. Chicken breast are $3.49/lb.
>>76932797it was either eat the cheesecake and skip a snack later or throw it out because it expired two days ago, and I'm not one to let good cheesecake go to waste definitely not something I eat every night
>>76932804That's fair. I do love cheesecake. I just never bake them for myself, because I would have no self control.
>>76932810ime self control comes downstream of calorie tracking, you can't control a system you aren't measuringif I want a pizza or cheesecake or whatever I can have it, but I have to log it accurately, and it probably means changing what I eat the rest of the day to keep under 2000kc
>>76932815I've tracked calories/macros just about every day for three years, barring holidays or the very rare vacation. I just know myself and my former fatty proclivities. My self control begins and ends at the grocery store. If I don't buy something, I can't eat it. If it's in the house and not part of my usual meals, I'm going to eat it—too much and at the wrong time. I bake almost every weekend as a hobby, and I give it all away to friends/family/neighbors. I know if I keep what I make, I'll demolish it.
Pretty much I just eat jap/okinawa sweet potatoes with butter, a protein sometimes with cheese or a sauce a little bit, and redbullAnd water all day.
Everyone on Santa's naughty list must eat a dozen century eggs
>>76930003Ive only recently gotten into prawns because of a mates recommendationHoly shit, 20 grams of protein for only 100 calories, plus it turns out I like prawns. I bought a bag of flash frozen prawns and am probably gonna be having them almost every night

>>76930003>ramen>mayo>cheese>4 eggs>1lb of chicken breast with no onions I've tried eating at a surplus by 150 calories and I gained 5lbs this year. Lifts are up but I barely look bigger and I'm starting to think I should start taking steroids because this shit sucks.
>>76933441It's wild to me that someone could make it this far in life without trying shrimp. But then I grew up on seafood. Yes they are amazing, and lots of ways to prepare them/dishes to use them in.
>>76933455Five pounds in nearly 12 months is not much. But there are a lot of other factors to consider before jumping on gear, especially if you are relatively new to lifting. You may be eating closer to maintenance than you think.Macros/calorie targets may need to be adjusted. Are you consistent with your diet? Are you getting enough sleep? Is your training program good? Are you training consistently? Are you training with effort?Etc, etc.If all that is good, then you could just be on the unlucky side of the bell curve for ability to put on lean mass. Hard gainers do exist.
