It's the same shit its always been. Meat, dairy and eggs for protein. Potatoes, beans or rice. Vegetables. Seasonings of your choice, maybe some olive oil or similar for cooking.

what veggies?

You can start calling them vegetables now. Onions are good. Asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, sweet potatoes, regular potatoes depending on how it’s served and volume. Don’t be afraid to get stuck into “unhealthy” food every now and again but you should remove snacks, fast food, a lot of processed food and that sort of thing. If you fancy a pizza one night go for it. If you’re having McDonalds, KFC, delivered food, instant food, food court etc etc then you’re not going to see an improvement. Plenty of water. If you do drugs and smoke, stop. If you drink make sure you keep it sensible, you’re 34 you don’t need to be in night clubs or throwing up in the street. Good quality cheeses, meats, fish and eggs will sort you out

Have you exercised before? Do you have a sporting background? Any health or physical conditions? That basically impacts how your initial approach to training should be. Get walking and moving about if you’re truly inactive and haven’t got a history of training. Start with the basics in the gym if you don’t know them. I’d avoid the compound lifts for now, but they can be added in later when you’re confident with your grip and strength and so on
