engage the movement by tilting your pelvis as if you're trying to fuck the sky, fuck it slow and deep then pull it out then fuck it slow and deep etc.
raising your knees is going to be the result but raising the knees shouldn't be the movement you're looking for - just think of fucking the sky passionately but slowly

just shove pillow under lumbar spine - if u give spine support above psoas origin it's not used during crunch lying on the floor, legs flat and soft, it looks lazy and funny, u might even burst out laughing
