I made a bet with a mate that I could run a local 5k event without stopping or walking. Then I went to the gym for the first time in years and managed to run for 5 minutes at a slow pace on the treadmill before I was about to collapse. And after doing some research, all the c25k programs I find take place over the course of months. The meet up is in 2 weeks. Am I cooked?
try jumping rope to improve performance faster
unless you're a whale or 80 there's no way you're physically incapable just go slower and stop being a pussythe treadmill hurts more try it outside
>>76938381With 30 days, you can do it. With a baseline of fitness, you could do it in 2 weeks. You could probably do it with no fitness in 2 weeks if you made it one of the only things you focused on.
I>>76938391This is the answer, treadmills suck.
>>76938381It's only 5k just get it done. Move your legs and don't stop moving them until you've done the 5k. You can't improve much in two weeks so just make sure not to over do it. Killing yourself in training will not help. Get a few runs in to get the body used to running. The fitness required to run a 5k at a pathetically slow pace is nothing. You probably have the fitness once the body learns to tun again.
>>76938381I started couch to 5k in March, and it took me 4 months to finish the program. I'm also 230 pounds at 5'4". Now I just go till I hit 5k.
>>76938381I believe any human that's not a 200kg hamplanet, no matter how unathletic, is able to run at like a 07:30/km pace for at least 15 minutes. That's almost walking pace, you'd need to consciously slow yourself down while doing an actual running motion. So just go slower. That being said, yes 2 weeks is to short to make significant endurance gains.
The couch to 5k apps are good way to get in shape. I used one and the program was good.
