would lifting have saved him?
>>
>>76938507
yeah, lifting a book.
A book about brain damage
>>
>>76938507
>none of the MMA fighters were able to do this
>>
No, lifting made him even worse. He talked about how he did less cardio and more strength training for this fight and you can tell, bro couldnt even run 4 rounds without completely gassing himself.
Remember kids, cardio is king.
>>
So AJ realized his true calling is gimmick fights against celebrities? That Ukrainian really knocked the fight out of this guy
>>
>>76938530
His decline is pretty embarrassing, I remembered when he was hyped as the premier British heavyweight.

lol just watched highlights. That’s hilarious. Props to him for taking a fight WAY out of his league though. pro boxers duck eachother for a decade to avoid losing and getting hurt actually pretty cool he did this and against a big boy like Joshua

Tyson is a tiny manlet who would be mogged by any modern heavyweight. He was hardly good in his own era.
>>
>>76938507
Who's this again?
>>
>>76938555
No modern heavyweight even in their prime fucking everyone up in 30 seconds or less a dozen times in a row. If they did you'd mention it prime mike is the goat of boxing period.

Joshua is washed up. but he is still a former HW boxing champion, It's no wonder that he was able knock out a much lighter youtube boxer.

Many got knocked out cold. Those weren't fake fights, mma dudes just suck at boxing.
>>

You would still expect most of them to know how to throw a punch properly.
>>
>>76938656
Yes exactly, I'm not disagreeing with you? That just proves moreso how fake this fight was.

>box against a taller, heavier fighter with longer arms and a way better record
>be absolutely helpless for six rounds straight
>have your jaw broken and get knocked down
Jake Paul will never really fight again. This was it.
>>
Is Paul any good? I haven't seen any of his fights, but I've been suspecting it was all carefully orchestrated performance for midwits and I think an actual boxer, like Joshua (even past his prime), should be theoretically able to end the fight in one or two rounds and the only reason he didn't is money. Just my uneducated guess anyway.
>>
>>76938782
he's basic, complete amateur.
>>
>>76938507
>>76938765
Bro deserves some respect for this, and I have never said that before.

It's not like suddenly his record becomes super meaningful. It's not. And it's not like suddenly he's one of the greats. He isn't. Hell, it's not even like I'm suddenly about to start watching his fights. I won't.

BUT having his JAW SHATTERED by a RECENT heavyweight champion OF HIS SPORT, IN HIS WEIGHTCLASS takes some absolute balls. At the very least, Jake Paul is one of the big boys now.
>>
>>76938786
My respect is reserved for men of honest sportsmanship. Not for showmen. Not for stuntmen. Not for fools. Of course, Jake Paul may do any business he choses to do as well as any other sport celebrity. But I don't have to act like it does boxing as a sport any true favours.
>>
>>76938786
Agree that it warrants some respect to enter a ring with Joshua but Jake that does absolutely not make Jake one of the big boys lol

There is a difference between bravery and recklessness.
Do you respect a guy who runs on a road with ongoing traffic? It takes balls doesn't it?
Courage implies a chance of winning (he had none).
If you're sure to lose, it's a suicide.
This dude was sticking his tongue out after every life altering punch taken to the face, basically saying "see? I don't care about the 5 year of life expectancy I've just lost, I'm still standing!"
He's an absolute moron, tweaking on stimulants.. just delusional retardation.
There is nothing to be respected here.
Respect is for Thomas Earns trying to finish Hagler or Barkley, knowing the odds are against him but going for it anyway.
That's a warrior going for the victory, not a fucking drug addict showing off in a middle of a fight he's losing, too dumb to even realize his opponent is warming up.

>>
>>76938825
Sure, but why don’t you try to see it from their perspective? What about the man who walks naked in the middle of the road because, in his delirium, he believes he will overcome everything and achieve something against all odds? Even if, by our standards, he seems like a madman, wouldn’t you agree that by his own standards he is following his own path something that is, in a way, admirable? I don't respect the blond faggot, but he is following his path against all odds, logic or reason, even if its stupid we could say that he is a true person!
>>
>>76938862
CTE as a path to individuation?
Yeah, why not.
>>
>>76938871
I understand your perspective, its because you see in terms of relations risk-benefits, but to follow your path its irrelevant what will or going to happen. There`s man that sacrificed their entires lives for their own path, to live and when the end is near to die having no regrets

If this fight wasn't scripted Paul would have had his head taken off in the first 30 seconds. AJ dragged it out to give the viewers their money's worth I guess. AJ wins, obviously, no one would buy a Paul victory, so they had AJ take it easy for 5 rounds before ending it. Still pulling his punches at the end but still managed to cave Paul's face in. Broken face and a few minutes of humiliation for near on 100million? Pretty reasonable pay day assuming he's not disfigured for life.
He gets to say he went toe to toe with a world great and AJ doesn't have to take a dive like all the other washed up prostitutes JP has put in the ring.

even if it wasnt scriped anyone would have a hard time KOing him

>larger ring to run around in
>literally runs around
>goes low to clinch every 5 seconds as soon as any imminent danger is present
>throws himself to his opponents feet

like bro cant even get to throwing a punch with this fucker, and if he does "its a foul" because he drops his knee asap

>>
>>76938782
I get the sense that he'd probably do fine against amateurs. It's a bit more than a hobby because he has the means to practice and put on a fight camp for himself. But that doesn't put butts in seats. His strength is putting butts in seats. It means he's never going to be fighting people his ELO, meaning his relative strength as a boxer is chiefly irrelevant. It will always be some provocative match up instead.
>>
>>76938553

Iron Mike in his prime would have murdered both of these fine upstanding young gentlemen. IMO, Mike didn't obliterate Jake Paul simply because he didn't want to. Why destroy someone who would not be able to protect himself? Mike is older and much wiser now. Anthony Joshua on the other had no qualms putting the hurt on Jake Paul. I do believe the outcome of these fights are scripted and this may signal the end of Jake Paul's fighting career or he might be doing a series of rematches.

The worst thing is that he actually has talent. Solid technician with punching power and great athleticism. He could have been the name of his era. But boxers these days are so protective of their 0 their careers are fucking lame.
>>
>>76939857
>Mike didn't obliterate Jake Paul simply because he didn't want to.
Plus he was almost 60 and had a busted knee.
He looked sad prior and during the fight. Kinda like he regretted having agreed to not kill JP for a huge payout.

Even though he was much smaller, if he had better cardio, I think he couldve done better. Jake is lowkey a better "boxer". In the earlier rounds he was doing amazing at dodging AJs punches. Good headmovement. Even landed more hits in the earlier rounds. If he had better cardio he couldve kept that up and won on rounds.

If he was heavier/bulked up for this, i'd imagine his cardio would be worse.

If nothing else this is a lesson in just how good professional boxers are. Paul is a clown but he isn’t a slouch he’s been upto this bullshit he’s selling working out and training for years now probably looks and is in better than anyone here and he looked like a mortal fighting a god out there and that’s with AJ going at probably less than 50%
>>
They both made +$90,000,000 from this fight.
He doesn't need to be saved. He got what he wanted.
>>
Paul should fight Andrew Tate I don’t think either would accept taking a dive either probably be to the death or turn into a real fight

>>
>>76938524
i think he was in decent shape, however you will gas out in boxing if you force out too much power too often.
he was jumping around and throwing power punches in an attempt to overcome the huge disadvantage which would've gassed anyone.
>>
>>76938524
Only correct post ITT. You can always tell a boxer is on his way out when he starts changing his routine to include more weightlifting and aims to look better. It ALWAYS goes wrong. Just look at Andy Ruiz vs AJ 1 and 2. Just lmao.

But boxing is rigged anyway.
>>
>>76941017
Eh, this guy was a former heavy weight world champion. Not just a pro. All sports have many various levels. There are pros out there Paul would do fine against, you just can’t go after a former top guy. Even retired if a top guy is relatively injury-free they are a force to be reckoned with. You would need to be approaching the top of the sport yourself to contend against them
>>
>>76939857
I don't think a lot of the mike haters saw much of his bagwork or realize the gap in skill from being trained by the best boxing coach since a teenager. Plus he was probably way stronger than any of them, what do they have at that point besides reach and cardio(mike did hill running every day it's not that much of a difference he just doesn't hold back)? They can't oneshot mike with a headpunch he can end a fight with a bodyshot not even a liver shot.

I wish the mma vs boxing was popular back then, give him some time to learn mma how tf do you want to box and get head injuries but not do mma who are these boxers rain man?

>>
>>76939024
Never heard of itauma, it looks like he is doing some kind of karate boxing but he's fast. Definitely not as strong as mike yet at least but it doesn't even look like he's sending some of the punches and they're so fast it's a ko.
>>
>>76938507
You'd think he'd want to have gained a little more muscle and trained for longer with a more hardcore coach. These guys are 240-265 and lean you kind of should probably get some more ko power first especially if you have to eat at least one punch first.
