Is there any actual downside to lifting 7 days a week? I have been for two months and I do a three day split so I feel like I'm not overtraining.
I try to but even when I manage to be consistent I end up burning out and accumulating pain and soreness to a point in which it gets in the way. I don't schedule rest days but I've noticed it's more productive to take them every now and then or else progress gets really slow and I feel so worn that I have to really focus on form instead of getting away with bullshitting the last two reps and shit like that. And when I go for too long I end up taking a bunch of days off after having drastically lowered the intensity of my last few workouts, so for me it's more productive in the long run to rest once or twice a week by feel rather than schedule.Nothing wrong with not taking them if you're not feeling like it's adding up and you're getting overworked. But also check your intensity, if you really lift as hard as you can it's impressive you're able to go without rest for two months in a row
>>76944191I don't personally think so if you control for volume. Some say using a joint every day is worse, but I don't see why. Sounds like saying drinking two bottles of vodka every other day is better than one a day.
>>76944252In that particular example, drinking one bottle of vodka a day is better than two every other day, as you're scarring your liver harder with each session with the later. No idea if it translates to joint stress tho.
>>76944191There is no downside if you rest enough. The real downside is most people will get tired of it or most people will have a tough time keeping the scheduled. All that really matters is exhausting/stimulating the muscle and then eating and resting until its healed and you can do it again.
