Will my ankle sprain go away if just push through it? I usually roll my ankle playing basketball and it goes away in 2/3 days, even without resting, but this time it still hurts after almost 2 weeks. I don't have limited strength but it does hurt when I move it in one particular way, I also feel a mild pain throughout the day. It's gone down but it doesn't disappear yet. I was going to take a break in one month because I'm traveling to see my folks so I don't really wanna rest. I know one more roll will fuck me up but I don't know, I really don't wanna rest until next month.

Why are you not rehabbing properly and strengthening/conditioning the ankle?
Clearly, you've rolled it one too many times and you're now paying the price for it.

it depends how bad you sprained it. high grade ankle sprains which involve full ligament tear will easily take a year+ to recover from. you may need to do physical therapy to get back to 100%. I had a grade 3 ankle sprain on october 1st 2024 and my ankle mobility still isn't 100%. still have pain every day until i really stretch it out. I would recommend taking a month off. look up ankle sprain rehabilitation stretches / exercises and do them daily. wear an ankle brace for the next 6 months or so when doing physical activity as your probability of re-straining your ankle goes up significantly once it's happened already before.

Basketball is so much fun , dude .I do strenghten it though, like a lot, I had not rolled it in like 2 months

yeah sports science fags have basically realized that your boomer coach who told you to "walk it off" was essentially correct. When you sprain your ankle you should do RICE (rest ice compression elevation) until the swelling goes down some but you should also use the ankle and walk on it as much as you can in the following days.

wear an ankle brace, shitlord

I had a fairly bad one from tripping over a stationary e-scooter that took about a month to rehab but got back 100% function after. >>76944791 >>76944789 bracing and compression really helped but icing can cause circulation issues after more than a few minutes continuously.
