How long should you rest between REPS? Not sets, but REPS. Just go as fast as possible or get a rep, take a few seconds to brace hard and engage, hit the rep, repeat?
>>76945501Dear mother of sketchy setups...As for your question, depends on the exercise. On the big four (or heavy compounds generally) I like to stabilize and re-brace between each rep. On most other exercises I like just the briefest pause. On some back and chest exercises (cable rows, flies) I prefer a longer pause in the "deep stretch". The only time I do continuous "touch and go" reps is when I'm trying to squeeze out as many reps as possible, like when I'm already tired and just want to finish the set, or specifically when I'm doing push-ups
>>76945501Imo just enough to keep consistent form. I breathe two times on deadlifts which takes 2-3 seconds, I don't do that with any other lifts.

If I lived alone I'd put a poster or something up of my favorite anime girl on the wall by my rack. She's cute like a daughter and it would help me lift more thinking about how hard she tries.

>>76945501About 1/2 a second. The eccentric should be controlled and about 2 or 3 seconds the concentric will take longer amounts of time as the set progresses. At both end of the rep you're only stopping long enough to ensure you're not over extending or using momentum.
