So, I generally don't like dentists or dental work and I also don't drink soda or coffee and smoke and all of that sort of stuff. I brush my teeth with the fluoride free stuff and I frequently use tooth picks to scrape plaque and bullshit out of my mouth after meals. I'm 37 and I've not been to the dentist since I was 20. I keep an eye on my teeth and enamel. They are the same that they have always been, I don't have discoloration, I don't have holes or dark spots, I don't have receding gums, I don't have any temperature sensitivity.

If you had told me at age 20 that dentistry was a completely unnecessary scam I would have said yeah ok bud. But after years of not going at all because I simply have absolutely no need, I think at the minimum the annual checks, the drilling, the "teeth cleaning" all of that stuff is snake oil bullshit they do to pad their pockets. I don't deny that there are things dentistry is extremely important for. If I chip a tooth, or need a root canal due to an infection, or some other major problem, but I think that they created this whole racket because they wanted consistent money out of people and that most of them probably actually believe it's good and necessary to do all this stuff. I think the average person if they don't have a horrific diet and don't totally neglect normal grooming habits have no need for a dentist most of the time.
