Been thinking about workout routines for a 5 day split with 2 day rest.Last year I did PPL, so I'd do bench and OHP on the same day. One always would suffer. This year I've been doing Arnold split. It also doesn't seem optimal because chest and back don't typically work together. Where do pullups/chinups go? No matter what day I do them on they interfere with the next day.I think I'm going to start doing back and biceps together, chest and triceps together. I'll do pullups on my back/biceps day. What do you think?

Threads like this is why people should always start training for strength/skill first, maybe transition to bodybuilding later. Powerlifting, olympic weightlifting, calisthenics, any kind of lifting meant to support the main sport of an athlete, don't concern themselves with the split bullshit, you train everything as you need it and learn to manage the needed volume throughout the day, the week and the various blocks. The way a routine should be setup is not by deciding on a split and then the rest. The reverse should be done: determine the weekly volume you want to allocate on each exercise, skill movement, muscle group, then find a way to distribute it efficiently over the course of your training, be it 3,4,5,6 days or whatever, based on your aims (be it technique, strength, hypertrophy) and your recovery.

>>76946940> you train everything as you need it and learn to manage the needed volume throughout the day, the week and the various blockslike deciding on which split to use? What the fuck are you blabbering about. Your comment is peak "I was too dumb for STEM so I decided to pretend exercise is complex and now I watch mr mike videos and nod in agreement".
>>76946940op here. I am training for strength, hypertrophy, aesthetics. I am just training to look and feel good.I am not an athlete or a bodybuilder and not trying to be one.
