M20 Been lifting for nearly 2 months, mostly 3 times a week (PPL), almost all sets to failure, no music, no preworkout (tried caffeine once or twice when rlly tired but felt weird afterwards). I love lifting hard, I'm not happy when I don't lift hard. I do a mix of heavy sets to push hard, and longer sets to challenge myself and do one last rep, maybe even deload.

But I feel like I'm hardly lifting harder than last time, and sometimes I worry I'm lifting softer than in my first few weeks.

So I need advice from the biggest gymbros who lift the hardest on how to lift harder, please and thank you. If you need more info I can provide more, just please help me it would be my dream to lift as hard as the cartoon gymbro caricatures, like the guys from King of the Hill

OP on another device. I hope I'm replying to the right person, but I swear this is genuine. I can't get a weird request like that to sound serious so the wording is weird but these are the true colors of my heart
>>
>>76947902
Found how 2 reply. I haven't taken any body pics since I started, but I'm 171cm 63/64kg average build, already lost quite a lot of weight this year, regained a bit, I look nothing special. Maybe more muscular than the average "skinny fat" guy because I'm shorter. Is a pic really mandatory ?
>>
>>76947893
If you're doing a lot of volume (sets/week) then you are due for a deload or week off. Don't forget to start again.

Whaaat for real ?? Like go a whole week with less/no exercise ? I try to go for more intensity in general but I spend a lot of time in the gym regardless, maybe 2h or so per workout.
Since it's PPL I go something like 3 compound push lifts, overhead, 1 or 2 more shoulder exercise, triceps, and maybe pec isolation; 2 quad centric, 2 glute centric, calves, adductors, then maybe abs or sum; curls, shrugs, 2 rows, 1 or 2 pulldowns, and maybe 1 abs and 1 lower back. 4 sets for most, 3 for some. Would you call that "a lot of volume" ?
>>
>>76948034
Enough to deload.
>>
>>76948012
Yeah 2 months I'm a newbie do you want me to spell it out for you ? I'm not retarded I'm not asking about "where muhh results" or "gym too hard finna hop on tren".
I finally got started after years of neglect and the better part of a year of putting it off, and I'm loving it. Lifting hard is what keeps me coming back, so I want to know how to lift even harder to come back even more. I don't care about hypertrophy and strength and allat, I know it's going to take years, what I want to know is how to lift as hard as possible BECAUSE I ENJOY LIFTING. Is it something I can train ? Does it simply take time ? Is it fucking esoteric ?
You can clown on me for that if you want, but I spent years watching Greg talking about "lift harder than last time" and I want to know HOW
>>
>>76948043
Thanks man appreciate the advice. I'll look into it.

First thing that popped into my mind was Mike Mentzer talking about being stronger when coming back from a break
>>
>>76947893
Start doing explosive stuff. Accessory work like:
>power cleans
>speed reps with lighter weight
>box jumps
>medicine ball autism
>sledgehammer swings
Basically stuff that requires you to produce a lot of force in a short amount of time. Power output if you will

Also, make sure you get enough salt, potassium, magnesium, etc. Especially salt. I didn't realize how much a low sodium intake could actually make you feel weak and useless
>>
>>76948062
OMG OMG are you serious ???!! That sounds like so much fun it's exactly what I was considering !! I can't wait to get started, just

>box jumps

? Maybe I'm too bow-legged and hunchback pilled to have realized that jumping required a lot of power, but I'll def look into it now.

Also yayyy :DDD I'm gonna be eating alll the salt I love salt. I already know how true this is since I went on a leg day with presumably way too little salt in my system and almost collapsed after my second exercise.
>>
>>76948082
Can you stop talking like a faggot? Thanks.

I'm 7.5' uncut. Post cock and if it's bigger maybe I'll consider it

>I didn't realize how much a low sodium intake could actually make you feel weak and useless
Went and licked about 2 grams of salt off my palm after reading this post. I literally just finished cleaning the vomit out of my sink. Fuck you asshole.

there's your problem. youre a pussy. 6 days now. Make sure your leg day is resistance bike so you actually burn some calories while toning your legs. Don't forget calf raises on your push days or youll look retarded. Good luck, youngling.
>>
>>76948365
I don't understand half of what you said. Is this a copypasta ? Thanks for the input regardless.
>>
>>76948365
Oh fuck I actually got it. You're telling me to do 2 PPLs per week. Got it. Thing is just 3 days a week already makes me so tired. I fall asleep right after my workout 3/4 of the time, and I just sleep way more in general, even on rest days. Although it's getting better maybe ? So it might be possible.
I would also need to clear up my schedule a lot, but definitely something to consider
>>
>>76948470
>finally got it

>>
>>76948470
*sigh* PPL has always been 6 days. Retards think it's 3 because it has 3 letters in it. 1/week is complete shit for building muscle because at least two days a week you're atrophying.
>>
>>76948053
>I spent years watching Greg
KLOK
>>
>>76948536
Hey man I just started working out seriously I hadn't even considered doing 6 days yet.
I'm also a newgen zoomerfag who has no resilience so I was already proud of myself for lifting 3 days a week, week after week.
I'm also afraid of upping the dose because I'm worried I couldn't handle it and would end up skipping work outs. Although again since I seem to recover faster now maybe this would be possible.

Then, how does this work in practice ? I can't imagine you just do the same workout 2 times a week instead of once. Do you split your workouts on 2 days then add a few more exercises on top ? how about recovery ? Can you come back 3-4 days after your last X day and lift as hard as after a week ? Surely you spend less time per workout though ?

I'll look into it anyway, same as those "calf raises on push day"
>>
>>76948861
For real ?? damn. Fyi spending upwards of 2h/per day 6 days a week requires a lot of commitment so maybe this is why "retards" prefer blissful ignorance

Have you considered using meth as a preworkout?

What are you doing? Spending most of your week in a cast?
>>
>>76949167
>2h/per day
1h of that workout is likely junk volume. Especially on a PPL routine.
>>
>>76949192
I have considered starting to do drugs desu.

Alcohol and food have too many calories, bideogames take too much time and turn you into a failure, smoking is bad for your lungs n shi, and actually going mad from (self-inflicted) stress has obvious downsides.

So yeah I am currently considering getting back on some sort of stimulant
>>
>>76949197
Real lifter break own femur every leg day, then heals it before next workout, also kek
>>
>>76949199
This seems to confirm that a 6 day split implies shorter individual workouts. Can you elaborate ?
>>
>>76949155
>do the same workout twice a week
yes. chase the pump. if you don't have the tenacity to do it yourself, then drop the ppl and just do some endurance lifting. Stamina is more important than strength, because it begets more workout resilience. do rows, dumbell/kettle bell swings and fortify your core. when you can breathe better, you recover better.

I do 7 exercises to failure each workout, 3 sets progressively overload and I only need a minute between sets. we all start somewhere. there's no shame unless you fail to get anywhere. good luck pussy faggot retard. may you become chad.
>>
>>76949217
It's either junk volume or excessive rest times (which I didn't mention before).

With junk volume it's trying to cram five lat exercises, four biceps exercises, and doing 3-5 sets of each motion. So either you're just fucking around to make sure you have energy to do the later sets. Or you're going all out on the first few sets in the session and half assing everything else. I can think of no reason why anyone would be spending so much time in the gym if unless they're doing that. On a pull day you really only need one width exercise, one thickness exercise, one biceps exercise, one or two complimentary forearm exercises, and maybe something for the rear delts or traps. Doing say 2-3 sets each back motion, 3-4 for the biceps, and 2 for the forearms, rear delts, and traps with 4 minutes total per set of both lifting and rest combined should be no longer than 1:12. If you're more efficient and doing 3 minutes, then that's about 54 minutes per workout. And realistically if you're actually training hard, you won't really ever need more than that. And if you're not training hard, you're not going to get gainz in the long run anyways.

Excessive rest times = 1:40 of sitting doing nothing, 20 minutes lifting. Resting 10 minutes between compounds because too fat. If they're doing a normal 5x5 with one movement per major muscle group for example, they really should be spending no more than 2-3 minutes between sets. 5 minutes lifting, 10 minutes rest. With 5 exercises that's no more than 1:15 given that you're not overdoing rest. And if you're doing 80% of 1RM, you really don't need that much rest anways. You're 3-4 RIR. On top of that in the modern day, we also have people getting distracted by phones which makes them even more inefficient and take longer on their rests to fuck around with their toy. Turn off your phone and lift.

Shorter workouts are generally better since they are more conducive to hard training.

No one asks what his lifts are
They ask all kinds of stupid bullshit about exercises and le volume and his dick or whatever
But no one asks what his lifts are

>What are you doing? Spending most of your week in a cast?
If someone does PxPxLxx the growth stimulus per muscle has worn off days before they use it again. Nothing is static so ability/size declines (atrophy). Unless they're roiding and inject growth stimulus.
>>
>>76949592
Let me guess. You're basing everything off one model from one study from a researcher who is known for questionable papers?

>how to lift a hard R
You can't just pickpocket an N-word pass from the nearest nigger you see anon. You have to challenge a nigger to a fair 1v1 fight, and then once you've defeated him and his posse, you force him to validate it.

Endurance lifting ? That's a lot of words. I might need to actually think about how I workout now... oh well. Haha thanks man appreciate the advice, I'll do my best and lift hard and often
