I feel like my knees are brittle AF , I can't even squat weight without some kinda pain , I can adjust positioning and once I'm warmed up it goes away, I was reckless in my youth and now im approaching 28 and I think major knee pain is in the future as I age.

bodyweight squats I can get through and split squats and some other alternative movements primarily , but heavy on the legs seems behind me even though I never really got heavy on the first place - fix your technique early on kids!

I feel like my legs are cooked , has anyone ever recovered their knees from such a sad state or is it truly over?

Do tendon strengthening knee exercises. It takes about 2 to 3 months.
Get on a leg extension machine, put the stack on the half the weight you would normal do in the 8-12 range. Find your range of motion, and freeze in the middle spot of that range and HOLD FOR 15 seconds for 1 rep. An isometric hold.
What this does is shorten your quad muscles while lengthening your tendons. This will heal them. Practice holding for more than 15 seconds.
Do the same thing with a seated Leg Curl for the back of the knee.
That will fix your knees without surgery
>>
Just don't train them, nobody cares about your legs except maybe faggots.
Big legs will also fuck up your pants choices

great advice

he meant that video where he collabed with a scientist and increased his tendon strength with a specific isometric routine

Warm up your hips more before loading the knees. In my experience pain in one area of the body indicates a problem somewhere else. Starting my sessions with 2 rounds of air squats, pogo jumps, leg swings, and banded TKEs over like 10 minutes has improved my knee health dramatically. Also try adding glute ham raises, that seemed to help pull the muscle balance back to comfort as well.

Bro

No more squats for you

Also if you work a desk job, make sure your chair is high enough and you have enough space to spread your legs under your desk and consider a sit/stand desk. I had them give me a regular table at my hob instead of a standard desk because the drawers made my leg space too narrow and I also had them raise it 6 inches. All this help reduce hip cramps and stuff that affect your movement mechanics and cause strain on the knees.
