Hello, so from next year I wanna start becoming more healthy like eating better food and maybe even joining a gym. But the truth is this is all a bit scary for me. I'm not really a social person and of course I am insecure about my weight. Now I don't look fat, but I am slightly overweight. I'm just curious what you guys would recommend for someone in my position. Like I wanna lose some fat especially in my belly and face, and also grow muscle. But I in no way wanna look like a musclehead bodybuilder or anything just tone down my body. So yeah what do you guys recommend just go to the gym and do exercises or is there some sort of plan I need to follow?
Thanks in advance!

Yeah so I dont wanna look like that where I have huge veins in my face.

Also what kind of food should I eat and what should I drink or not drink? Like I understand I need to eat more healthy but it's not like i'm never gonna eat pizza anymore or something. So hopefully there is a solution that helps me.

Thanks and merry christmas to all!

find exercises you enjoy doing that collectively hit all the major muscle groups and split them into leg/core days and upper body days, then progressively overload with more weight and reps

this can be at a gym or at home with literally nothing but a pullup bar and a kettlebell

Dont worry, this will mostly not happen. People need to hop on gear or train for years with precise dieting to achieve this.

People wont bother you at the gym, and everybody is there to improooove so they wont judge, in fact they will silently encourage you.
Might want to look out for zoomers who like to film themselves and by extension you. But nothing you can do about it really.

If you have no idea what you are doing, maybe start with the program "starting strenght"

Last piece of advice is to not train with too much weight. If you cant do 10 reps with a weight, its too much. Godspeed, anon.

if you want to lose weight, eat less calories, you don't have to cut out pizza just eat less of it (and with more meat toppings, you can put a lot of protein on a pizza if you go all in

fats are more calorie dense per gram but you need at least some healthy fats like olive oil or fatty fish for health, carbs are the most bioavaliable energy source and cause the largest insulin spike, protein is very satieating for it's calories and required for good muscle growth but it's expensive to eat just meat and you probably don't want to anyways

measure your calories in and your weight for a week or two, if your weight stays the same that's you're TDEE, eat more to gain mass or eat less to cut

t. 30 pounds down with the only dietary change being "stop eating at 2000kc", which means eating half a little caeser's pizza instead of a full one and only eating one other small meal that day

I've found massive plates of baked vegetables with chicken to be very filling for their calorie density and protein, like 250g of chicken and 750g of baked beets or cauliflower or broccoli or whatever; but if you just calorie count and prioritize protein over fat over carbs everything works out

Thanks, how about those high protein chocolate milk drinks? I saw them at my supermarket and thought those might be an easy thing to drink throughout the day to put on more muscle?

Also what are you guys' thoughts on something like this? I want to use it to train my abs at home and i've heard it can also burn fat but I don't know if I believe that.

drinking your calories is a good way to drink too many calories
