I finally got pic related set up.
How do I make it into a 2 to 1 ratio set up so the weight is halved(including the velocity/inertia/whatever it is) so it's easier on the joints?

its literally on your pic
shittest hgg thread ever
I wish somebody made a MET thread instead

OP's pic setup will be 1:1

easiest way from the ground would be fixing the far end of the cable and hang the weights off the pulley in the middle
>>
>>76955966
This. Second pulley must be attached to the weight.

What a waste of money. Should've bought silver instead.

The fact that you retards don't just know this is one of the saddest things on /fit/ rn
>>
>>76955950
If the only thing thr pully does is change direction, there is no change in force.
>>
>>76955958
Typical AI slop answer that is wrong. The movable pulley has to be attached to the weight stack and not the handle/bar.
The rope goes like this:
Fixed point -> pulley on weight stack -> fixed pulley.
You now have a 2:1 ratio, you can use another fixed pulley on the ground to redirect the force.

OP you should have figured that out if you weren't a subnormal iq inferior being. How did you even solve the captcha??

OP here. I should've made it clear. I don't want to have high the set up in this left side of the picture as that would cause swinging. The best way requires 3 pulleys in right side of the picture as it reduces swinging considerably and feels good on the elbows.

I only use a pulley from the high position.

I have roughly -$400 cash on hand to buy some stuff for my home gym.
Do I buy nice weight plates (Weight-It-Out 45's, specifically), to replace my shitty generic rusty Chinese weight plates?
Or do I try and buy some sort of budget home gym machine to add onto my setup?
>>
>>76957202
Neither, just donate it if you can't figure out something better.
>>
>>76957202
well how are we supposed to know what you need if we don't know what you have
>>
>>76957210
I have no machines at home what so ever (cable work is being done with a setup similar to the OP's).
I am starting to run short on plates for my heaviest compound lift (deadlifts)
I have no proper safeties for my power rack
My only plate storage is a slapped together weight tree made from warped 2x4's and a 1" 1/2 pine curtain rod
>>
>>76957222
well it sounds like you already know what you need in order of priority
>proper rack safeties
>moar plates
>somewhere to put the plates
>maybe a pull down attachment for your rack if you've got money left
>>
>>76957224
you're right..... :/
I just don't want to spend $200 + on some safeties, but I guess the cost is justified, lol.
>>
>>76957230
$200 on safety is cheaper than your insurance deductible
>>
>>76956582
Doesn't the pulley move less distance the further the 2 are away and the closer the weight with the pulley is to the top anchors?
>>
>>76957202
This is pretty good, has a lot of uses.
