so I'm not quite ascended into that tier of unc yet but...
>take no supplements = feel kinda sluggish
>take more than Bryan Johnson = more energy and better recovery than teenager
I do all kinds of weird medicinal plants BryJo never heard of and that's probably some of it.

Being almost 40 is awesome. I have more money than I know what to do with, great kids and awesome hobbies. Went through a nasty divorce but a few years later and I'm one year into a relationship with an aspie zoomette who shares my interests and appreciates that my life is more put together than even her own parents.
You could not pay be to be 20 again. Especially nowadays.
>>
>>76971228
For guys most things are less age and more what you've been doing in recent years. For women it's over for dating (Someone they like).

Use your muscles, walk a lot, take some vitamins and shit.
>>
>>76971349
I dont believe a word you say because you're a maladaptive behaving anime poster with childhood trauma and likely sketchy inclinations.

>Any advice from oldfags on how to keep yourself on shape on the way down?
For me as 45 year old oldfag fitness is easy, I'm in the best shape I have ever been in my life, good muscle mass, visible muscle striations and visible abs, 15% bf, really good VO2 max and aerobic stamina from doing endurance sports. Also forever natty. Routine is easy:
>good diet, med diet mostly with a nice balance of chicken, rice, legumes, fish and 3 meals a day
>lifting weight (basic push, pull, leg split)
>running 3 times a week (interval/tempo run, long run, easy/recovery run)
>a bit of cross-training/swimming/biking thrown in for variety
>active 7 times a week
Granted my 20s, 30s physique was absolutely shit tier (I was lost in some schizo shit during these decades, wasted youth tbqh) but I guess I had some genetic potential and you can always bounce back lmao. On the other hand I'm still a turbo autistic virgin and I will never have sex but that's how it is although I have to say fixing my physical fitness improve my mental health too and even my social life too (tbf calling what I have a social life is too much but compared to my schizo 20s and 30s it's a big improvement lol).

>Any advice from oldfags on how to keep yourself on shape on the way down?

1) don't eat like shit, drop most of the sugar from your diet (sucks but its probably the biggest thing you can do)
2) stay flexible, literally do flexibility work, stretch and some yoga poses every day
3) protect your back from stress, make sure you have a good bed and chair and aren't fucking up your lower back daily, this may involve re-training yourself to sleep in a proper position such as on your back, instead of sprawled like a kid
4) cardio often, even if its walking a bunch, you don't need to take this to an extreme but you cannot get away with being sedentary anymore

If you have pain from lifting, then go back to body weight exercises until you have body control without pain, then start picking up iron again.

Finally, consider doing a cycle of anavar+test once or twice yearly to heal everything up and recover some lean muscle.

Do not do hardcore TRT until you are in your late 50's or early 60's when you have nothing to lose.

>BPD
>autistic
That is a virtually impossible combo anon. Autists can be easily victimized by cluster Bs, but they are unlikely to fall into BPD/NPD themselves
>>
>>76971534
autists are more likely to have BPD. Likely a result of having a traumatic childhood from being shunned by their parents due to social abnormalities.

What phenomonon you're thinking of is the overlap between the two. That means some autists appear to have BPD but dont and some BPD people might seem autistic but dont. but if you are autistic youre more likely to have BPD than someone who is Neurotypical
>>
>>76971542
That actually makes sense - fair enough. She had a traumatic childhood, but there are no obvious attachment issues and she has a good relationship with her mom. No love bombing or attachment anxiety. I've been in a BPD relationship before and this ain't it.

>Any advice from oldfags on how to keep yourself on shape on the way down?
For me what works is treating my body right. Avoid alcohol (easier said than done), goyslop, sleep deprivation. Minimize stress within what's reasonable in your life. Move your body, play sports, lift weights, but always do so carefully; your body may be even more powerful today than it was in your early 20s if you do it right, but the one thing your older body cannot do is brush off punishment like it did in your early 20s; so you have to find the balance between using it as much as you can without abusing it.

I too get frustrated whenever I decide to do some retarded physical feat without thinking, only to be struck with back/knee/wrist pains that may very well evolve to lesions of I don't address them properly. But then I remember I CAN do lots of physical feats, I just have to be very conscious about them so I don't end up hurting myself.
>Play light rugby with friends at the beach?
Sure.
>Invite strangers who may or may not be unecessarily competitive and rough to join in?
No-no.

And so on
>>
I bet you drink alcohol.
I'm 42 and feel great.
>>
>>76971228
I'm 41 and for the last few years my life has been a neverending cycle of:
>exercise and eat right for several weeks
>get injured or sick
>drink too much to deal with depression
>compounds healing time, which is already long because old
>finally get back on the horse again

I'm on a hamster wheel just trying to not constantly feel like I'm dying.
>>

Turning 39 this month, skill issue, I feel amazing.
>>
>>76971228
Sounds like that’s all your fault. Take some glucosamine for your knees and stop crying
>>
>>76971228
Low dose test & GH are your friends OP.
>>
Your metabolism remains stable until you approach your 60's, and after your 60's it only slows down a little bit.
>>
>>76971228
Sorry, op, can’t relate: been bodybuilding since I was 16, 39 now and feel like 21. Still doing everything I did back then and more. No recovery issues. Then again, I love the lifestyle and have always followed a disciplined nutrition regimen, judicious use of supplements, and prioritize sleep.
>advice
You need to reduce stress in your life, to me that sounds like the root cause of your issues. Things hang over your head and stress you, so you eat like shit, sleep badly, etc. You need to break down your problems into small parts and sequentially address every one of them. That’s the only way things will stop seeming overwhelming.
>>
>>76971933
This. Americans (I am one) are always carping about metabolic damage, etc., but it’s mostly self-inflicted damage cause by poisonous food and poor habits.
>>
>>76971228
Everything hurts be aise you didn't take care of yourself.
t. 38 year old anon
>>
>>76971349
Amen brother.
40's are awesome if you planned ahead.
I'n very comfortable financially, living in a house I built myself, married with 3 kids.
My advice:
>if you are going to drink alcohol, move to wine. Beer just sucks in your 40's, and while I do like scotch, a good glass or bottle of wine makes you feel great.
>I work out at home gym, although I play tennis at a club with some friends every weekend for social gains.
In your 40's there is really only types of sports you SHOULD be playing. Tennis or Golf. Everything else has an extremely high risk / reward ratio. Remember Michael Schumacher had the reflexes of a Top Gun fighter pilot but is now a vegetable for life due to skiing because he thought he had the same reaction times as a 40 year old. You don't. Accept and move on.
>I'm faithful and married and I love my wife. My advice would be to schedule sex (loosely). When you are running a family, with all the sports, activities, meals its easy to deprioritize your sexual needs. Make it a point to fuck your wife regularly. Life just gets so much easier when your brains are regularly fucked senseless.
>>
>>76971349
>You could not pay be to be 20 again
Congratulations anon but this statement is obvious cope
>>
>>76972099
NTA but that is cope.
I accomplished a lot in my 20's but I suffered a lot. Deaths of friends, financial hardships, unsure of future, sexual drama. Wouldnt trade for the world now in my 40's.

>>
>>76971228
the only good thing about being older (38) is that I dont have to live in existential angst anymore because my money situation is pretty much sorted out and that I have more spare time than 20 years ago. I do however agree with small things like recovery taking longer and certain things like my lower back being ultra sensitive but I believe you can work around those things. being less active is a you problem. I am more active now than I was in my teens.
>>
>>76971228
45 year old here. Best I can say is make sure to stretch, do more light cardio, and stop chasing numbers and everything will go more or less smoothly.
I was an athlete when younger so it took a while for me to internalize that I can't keep lifting (or recovering) the way I could get away with in high school and college. But when you think about it, at our age our dues are already paid. There's no shame in taking care of yourself and slowing down.
>>
>>76972099
NTA but I spend several hundred a month in supplements/cosmetics to stay looking/feeling 20s in my mid 30s and inb4 skipping Brazilian; both clankers and a bunch of IRL+OL people say I don't look anywhere old enough and not having those little Chud lines like him from much higher-tier dermatology skillz is a lot of it.
