Have any of you anons ever seen another man who had a back that was “too big”? I certainly haven’t.. We’ve all seen guys with overdeveloped pecs which end up looking ridiculous, but I don’t think it’s possible for a back to be too big.

Picrel is me from today. The back is the most glorious muscle group, and it’s my favorite thing to train. Anybody else?

Sick pump. My brass tacks back day is as follows:
>2-3 sets of 3-8 bodyweight pull-ups, kettlebell swings for shoulder warmup
>pyramid set of weighted pull-ups so 25/35/45/35/25, all to failure, and then bodyweight to failure after last set of weighted
>3 plates on hammer strength horizontal row, full stretch/squeeze and slow cadence right into 2 plate hammer strength low row with supinated grip.. 3 sets of 8-10
>one set to total failure lat pulldown (chin-up grip), starting at 180lbs and dropping 20lbs after reaching failure until failing with 30lbs
>ez bar preacher curls, one set, starting at 80lbs and dropping down 10lbs each time failure is reached, all the way down to 30lbs
>reverse grip ex bar curls, one set, 15-20 reps

In and out in less than 45 minutes

Listen, kid. These shitty little comments you’re making in my thread? Take that bullshit elsewhere. We are trying to have a nice thread here; post body or keep it movin.

How many reps do you do with the 45lb weighted pull ups?

Mine is too big

Yes. I've talked about this guy here before. Dude at my kid's bus stop in the morning. He's about 5'10", pretty ripped, good v-taper, clearly a juicer. Not that huge overall, but his lat spread is ridiculous. You see him walking and it looks weird, and then you realize he can't move his upper body - arms are pinned to just a little in front of his sides, has turn his whole torso pivoting at the hips if he wants to look around, and then you see him from the back and he's got the batwings bodybuilders have to flex to show of properly except he's not flexing, he's just stuck like that.

He's a nice enough guy, but he looks retarded walking around like that.
>>
>>76992777
no one's stuck in a lat spread pose, he's doing it because he thinks it looks cool and it doesn't take a lot of effort, but the scapulas naturally retract when you relax it's not a matter of mass
>>
>>76991144
I do them very strictly, so it varies. For the 25/35/45/35/25 I hit 8/6/5/3/4 reps for the respective weights. If I’m just doing 45lbs for AMRAP then I can do 6-8 reps at 185lbs bodyweight. My PR is one rep with 100lbs added.
>>76991169
lol
>>76992777
That’s based. I strive to be that man.

I've only seen that like twice. This back is so thick that it's unaesthetic, and I saw someone with lats so wide it was unaesthetic.

My shoulders always outgrew my biceps despite the fact the only exercises i do for them are bench and overhead press, i only started doing lateral raises less than a month ago

Thanks.

That back is aesthetic as fuck. It’s past the point of unaesthetic and has come full circle back to being aesthetic because it’s strong as fuck
>>
>>76992861
I can do 8, dipshit. Can you read? When I’m just doing 45lbs, my working sets start at 8 and drop to 5-6 by the final set.

I will never wear anything bigger than a large shirt. Sometimes if I’m wearing a medium, it’s almost impossible to get the shirt off after the gym due to the back pumps

when your back actually beefs up big shirts can't hide it
I don't even know what a back pump is
>>
>>76995735
What is the point of this post? My back looks big in large shirts, they’re tight. I’m saying I will not buy larger shirts regardless of the fact that they are tight.

You’ve never had a back pump? Like from a heavy back day?
>>
>>76995912
nta but why not? I prefer baggy shirts. You can still see your muscles in them.
I cringe when I see lifter dudes walking around in too tight shirts/ polos

I don't know I don't lift for pumps. If a shirt size is tight, you might already look like a tool, but definitely do if you wedge yourself into the next size smoler.
>>
>>76996300
They’re just normal sweatpants bro, I pull them up to my knees then push the loose fabric down so that my shins get some air flow. I am a sweaty motherfucker and that little bit of breeze on my limbs keeps me cool.
>>76996421
>I don’t lift for pumps

You’re missing out bro
>>
>>76990302
>back that was “too big”?
Yes, just look from the side. Overdeveloped backs dwarf how big the arms and shoulders look. I stay away from doing heavy rows or anything else that gives width to the back.
>>
>>76992822
Only good back in this thread.

The rest are not aesthetic.
>>
You can definitely have a back too big, but most of the time it's because you're just fat

The entire point of big back is a tight waist for a sharp v taper.

If you have a big belly and gut, now your back isn't as impressive anymore.

So make sure you do your cardio, and stay lean. Keep the waist tight. Train your legs hard.

A good physique is big back, wide shoulders, tight waist, and strong legs and glutes.

If you're "big and strong" but you're fat, it doesn't look nearly as impressive.

I'm not even that big, but since my body fat has gone down, my back has a nice shape to it. And I have decent legs and nice glutes from running.

People who have big back + big belly it's not impressive at all.

Do your pull-ups, weighted pull-ups, Tbar rows, bent over rows, chest supported rows, rear delt flies and lateral raises. That's my routine for a nice back
>>
>>76997277
>I'm not even that big,
second line made that obvious

>>76997263

None of this is true. Look at the girth and roundness here, the core that says strength in no uncertain terms.
