Tired of being an anxious pussy bitch and I don't want to take anxiety medication. Will l-theanine help at all? I want to take with my coffee.
>>76991722yeah it'll help. it's actually really safe, you can take up to 1,200mg but that'll make you tiredtry 400
>>76991736Local store only sells the olly no stress brand. Good or do I need to order something, or does brand not really matter?
>>76991722>anxiety>coffee>and cigarettesShiggy
>>76991722>Will l-theanine help at all?nobut alcohol will help
>>76992217Yeah but last time I was drinking at work it didn't end well>>76992210I love coffee, would drink matcha but it fucks with iron absorption
>>76991722iirc l-theanine helps calm down faster after stress, it won't reduce baseline anxietyto reduce baseline anxiety, do 4 seconds inhale 4 seconds pause 8 seconds exhale 2 seconds pause breathing as often as you can, keep jaw and face in general relaxed, tongue on "floor" of the mouth, it ties into nervous system fight or flighttake valerian root tincture, 30 drops 3-5 times a day, yes that much, yes it has to be tincture and not pills, will chill you out after a week of taking itashwagandha helps too but valerian is better imo, ashwagandha makes me numb, valerian makes me chillstare at the wall/out the window or walk real slow so you don't have to pay attention to surroundings at least 20 minutes a day, this gives brain downtime, i was on verge of crying 24/7, crap like zoloft was prescribed and didn't help, turns out it was just overactive cns because brain didn't have downtime (even in bed as I drifted to sleep I kept THINKING), literally staring out the window 20 minutes calmed me immediately, meditation didn't help as much because it kinda takes effort/willpower, it's an "activitiy", you should be like a sleepy cat insteadtangentially related: start spending free time either on things that take effort (reading hard books, hobbies like growing plants, cooking, whatever) and if you are too tired for those things, then either stare out the window or SLEEP, don't do effortless media consumption, it actually takes about as much effort cns-wise as actual real hard work, you just don't notice it.
>>76992655>I love coffee, would drink matcha but it fucks with iron absorptionCaffeine induced anxiety would like a word
>>76991722There is also propranolol, works like a charm to take the edge off especially if you're a neurotic ruminator like me
decaf green tea makes me feel extremely relaxed for about 3 hours, then extremely restless and irritated like every little noise bothers me and and I want to punch things to death
>>76992703i swear I have had similar issues with tea. still not quite sure what exactly the problem is. I drink tons of coffee, so it can't be the caffeine i think.
>>76992673Thank you anon>>76992693Coffee only makes me anxious if I drink way too much. It helps with my social anxiety somewhat because it takes a lot of energy and focus to bury my anxiousness in public and force myself to interact with people.
>>76992673very interesting postcould you tell us more?
>>76992703While looking up more information on theanine I saw some people say taking it made them more anxious, on edge, and irritable. Wonder if it was placebo or if some react differently than others?
>>76991722if you can buy it OTC its probably bullshit
>>76991722>anxious>coffeeFound the problem.
>>76994353I have diagnosed anxiety disorder (gad + sad)
>>76995062Yet still drink it. Have you ever tried to go a couple weeks without to see if it makes a difference?
>>76995119I have, sometimes I go months without drinking it. If it made any difference I couldn't tell.
baseline stress levels are related to brain inflammation, among other things>strict zero PUFA>low vitamin A>gelatin to counter inflammatory protein ratios>coconut oil to counter inflammatory fat ratiosThat should produce very calm moods.
>>76991722Have you tried sitting by the window with some fruit tea and just watching the scenery?
>>76991722I take 200mg at night and 200mg in the morning with GABA, and the anti-anxiety effect it has is actually unbelievably powerful.
>>76992673>stare at the wall/out the window or walk real slow so you don't have to pay attention to surroundings at least 20 minutes a day, this gives brain downtimeo hey, I just kind of recently started doing it. I found a nice spot in home where I could just put a stool by the window and have a nice view. Seems to help
>>76995872Sometimes actually>>76995874Do you feel worse when you don't take it now?
>>76996507That's a good question, and the answer is I don't know because I haven't stopped taking it since I started.
>>76991722yesalso omega 3, magnesium, vitamin d3, phenibut, glutamate, semax, dihexamight sprinkle in a megadose of shrooms here and there
>>76992673I have this exact same verge of crying feeling for 2 years now. Some days it's worse than others, but it's strongly socially related. I do go on long walks regularly so idk if just staring out of a window is gonna work but I'll try. Probably will start lexapro next month cus I'm tired of this social anxious shit
>>76996529I read that you can build up a tolerance fairly quick
>>76991722> Will l-theanine help at allfor like 5 minutesi assume most of your anxiety is about other people, so i suggest running in populated areas. people will either be jealous or admire you or find you annoying, either way you are using the city as your personal gym, which is based. you feel like you own earth.
>>76997961I live in a rural area but extremely based advice
L-theanine is nice to counteract caffeine a little, but the only thing that really helped me chill the fuck out was KSM-66.
