Firefighters are some of the most pathetic people. Advances in building technology and regulations have basically made them obsolete, and most of them were supposed to be fired as part of government cost cutting. They lobbied our government to make it MANDATORY that they respond to every vehicle collision, even minor fender benders. Now a scrape on a bumper results in an insanely oversized truck fucking up traffic full of 6 retards to make sure "it's all ok".They also lobbied to respond to all medical emergencies so now they spend all fucking day resurrecting fent junkies.Fuck I hate the fire department.

no clue how different it is in cities...but my local fire department is out of shape men and women. and every now and then i've seen a handful of them shopping at the grocery store and it has me wondering... are tax dollars being spent on fattening these people up

Its only worth it for the first few months since the excitement is new and girls will definitely want to get to know you more when you tell them you're a firefighter but years down the line you're looking at constantly inhaling dangerous substances and fucking joints and back from carrying all that equipment constantly I've met ex firefighters in their 40s who are broken down and struggling with medical bills as they constantly get fucked over by their healthcare providers.

Our fire chief figured out that he could get more money from the federal government based on how many calls they responded too. He had the brilliant idea of sending an entire crash response to every little fender bender just to show more incidents to get more money.All the firefighters complained and the police were mad because every little fender bender turned in a big traffic nightmare with fire trucks blocking the road etc.It lasted about a month until he rescinded the policy. I dont know why he didnt go to jail for attempting to defraud the government.
