How are humans even supposed to reach the recommend fiber intake? IIRC it's something like 40g which is a massive amount. You have to eat more than a pound of veggies and oats to reach 40g of fiber which seems ridiculous

Tldr: it promotes gut bacteria and can bring you back to a normal state.

It cured my IBS. Coats your intestines with mucus and benefitial bacteria. Even though it's soluable fiber, it will form blocks of "jelly" that holds the food. Overdosing can result in clogging yourself up with very bad results.

There's also debate whether or not you're cucking your digestion as the food is blocked off by the expanding fiber.
