This exercise is gonna make you physically disabled by 40
But I'm 44 now? I love deads. OP, how do you explain this
>>77002002I like picking up heavy weights.
>>77002002Weakling dummy cope
>>77002002Why the fuck is /fit/ so anti deadlift? Is everyone here just a bunch of glassback pussies?
>>77002005this board is full of grandpas lmao
>>77002002my body can match my mind
I'm killing myself when I'm 40
>>77002220You're making the right decision. Everything gets worse post 40. Everything. If I wasn't a pussy I'd do it too.
>>77002005I'm 46. Are we stealing the youth's gains?
>>77002220>>77002229Losers.
>>77002002Live largeDie largeLeave a giant coffin
>>77002070This is /fit/ Nobody actually lifts and any lift harder than bench gets extra ragged constantly on cuz work
>>77002002These are the only things that fix my back painI'm 32
>>77002002By fixing my back? I doubt it
>>77002002Nope. I'm 54. I pull more weight now than I ever have.
>>77002070I think it's just the same couple guys posting the same "DEADLIFTS ARE GAY AND DUMB" thread every single day. They probably saw one SquatU video 10 years ago and tweaked their backs trying to lift lmao2pl8 and made up their minds then and there.
I had a fucked up back from a car accident. I could feel a few muscle strands stretching in weird directions, they were probably knots or tangled or something. Deadlifts made it go away
>>77002601Yes. This board is slow and there might just be one or two turboretards responsible for most of the bad threads and a lot of the bad comments. I have come recognize some. Like the guy who is obsessed with calling people fat and starts threads to that end, but doesn't even exercise. This really is such an easy problem to solve. Just get rid of turboretard problem causers. This is a simple thing.
>>77002002true story
>>77002002It's actually the opposite. Lightweight deads are one of the best exercises for preventing back problems as you get older. If every guy did 3x10 lmao1PL8 deads once a week, we could put the entire chiropractic industry out of business.
>>77002002>look mommy I posted it again XDBan this faggot>>77002070It's not anyi-deadlift, just the same pantyboy spamming it daily
>deadlifts actually strengthening backLmaoI was afraid of them for a long time because I didn’t want to fuck up my back, and I finally got over it and incorporated them into my workouts because I wanted my back to be as strong as possible. When doing them with proper form, I literally only felt them in my legs.Didn’t even engage my back at all.Even op’s picrel(/gifrel) shows just that. Am currently looking for something that will engage my lower back, any suggestions would be seriously appreciated.>inb4 rope assisted neck extensions until failureThere’s some back extension machine at my gym, but it looks kinda sketchy to me.Currently doing heavy rows and lat pulldowns, but that isn’t strengthening the “behind my abs” part of my back that I was hoping to.
>>77004056Nothing will improve the posterior-chain, your>“behind my abs” part of my backbetter than deadlifts. Accessories to pile on would be hinge movements like KB swings or good-mornings. I doubt movement variety is the problem though... is there a reason you chose not to share your weight/rep schemes?
Only thing dead lifts ever did for my back was make my traps a bit stronger. Did fuck all for it otherwise and I noticed guys with much better backs than me who never touched dead lift.
>>77004056>Am currently looking for something that will engage my lower back, any suggestions would be seriously appreciated.Try hyper extensions. They're awkward as hell to load up so I stick to body weight on them.
>>77004056I love jefferson curls, isn't that exactly what you're looking for ?
>>77004067Thanks, I looked into exercises for the posterior chain and that got me down the right track. And nah, it just didn’t seem super relevant. I just did 3x8-12, increasing weight when 12 was ez.I was somewhere around 2pl8 when I declared it useless for my back.>>77004210Same, haha. Traps and legs were the only thing I noticed.>>77004230I’ll look into this, ty b0ss.>>77004243I’ve seen these and yup, they’re pretty much exactly what I’m looking for. They still sketch me out a little, and I’m trying to work my lower back because that’s where I get pain and I reeeaally don’t want to exacerbate it because when I do I am fucked at my job for like 3+ days. I’ll just start with stupid low weight until I’m super comfortable, this was probably the push I needed to actually do ‘em.
>>77004275Also, I am kinda looking for isolation stuff as opposed to compound/anything primarily working the legs with the back included as a goofy, minimal bonus. At least not this bulk, until I widen out my frame a bit more- but I’m already kinda where I’d like to be, sans the occasional back pain.I’m already super happy with my legs and don’t want them to be any bigger, just a personal aesthetic choice.I don’t skip legs entirely, they’re just already taken care of. I think people look goofy as fuck with huge legs (looking at you, starting strength t-rex goblins, kek).I did find some stuff that seems like it’ll do the trick while googling posterior chain exercises, so that’s tight.Theenks frens.>>77004067Would you count Russian twists as “hinge movements?”I fuggin love those but have only done them a handful of times, I’ve been meaning to work those in seriously.
