several years ago I finally started getting my act together and lost well over a hundred pounds and I went from a nearly bedridden suicidal fat fuck to a functional adult with a taste of naturally generated testosterone. Well my mom died a few years ago and I just gave up and got back on the same path I've spent the majority of my life in.

It's up to me to unfuck myself like it was before but I was stupid enough to do it to make someone else happy instead of do it solely to improve myself and how I feel.
I could stick a gun in my mouth right now but I think a better idea would be to go pick up a pair of dumbbells from wal-mart and start lifting them.

How far can I get with a single set of dumbells? I need some full body workouts and I also want to strengthen my back so It doesn't go out again for literally no fucking reason. What are some good beginner workouts?

To get the most out of less weight you'll need to do isolations and unilateral work. The most obvious example is the legs, they require heavier weight but you can get more out of less weight by working one leg at a time with one-legged-split-squats and single-leg-romanian-deadlifts. For chest and back you can also double the amount you get out of less weight by doing isolations like chest-flys and lat-pullovers since the distance that the arms extend out makes a lighter dumbbell feel heavier compared to doing a regular dumbbell bench press.

You could also consider searching around your local area to see if there are any public parks with fitness fixtures like pull-up bars and parallel dip bars. You can bring your dumbbells with you then you could hold the dumbbell between your legs (or put them in a backpack strapped to your back or chest if you prefer) while doing progressively heavier weighted chin-ups and dips; even with a smaller set of dumbbells you could progress to a respectable level of strength with this method.

I forgot to address this:
If you want a stronger back, in my experience you can get a respectable amount of core strength from just your own body weight by working toward dragon flags, which will strengthen spinal rigidity. To do them at home I would lie down on the floor with a heavy sturdy object/furniture behind me which I use to grab my arms onto for anchoring the upper body to the floor while doing the exercise. Make sure it's something flat, stable, sturdy and safe (I've used the bottom of a heavy bed frame, leg of a heavy table, I've put dumbbells on the seat of the couch to weigh the couch down while grabbing its underside).

Look up "dragon flag progressions" on something like youtube to see how to do it: you basically start with reverse crunches and progress over time.
