Are you going to maintain a muscular physique into your old age ?
>>77003021Even if I die trying
It doesn’t seem difficulty to maintain into old age, right? Are boomers just lazy?
>>77003043You need to have strong baseline beforehand. Old age fucks you up either way, but if your fundations are strong, you have more time in the tank. You need to realize this before your 30's or it's a loosing battle after that.Imagine 2 identical twins, one lifts and takes care of himself, the other is sedentary goyslop consumer. They hit 70, and muscle and bone athrophy start to creep in. The sedentary twin will probably barely make it to 80, with osteoporosis, broken hip along the way, and needing a helper to get off the toilet to wipe his ass. The active twin will be mobile and active on his own even in his 80's and probably will make it past 90.Your body is just a flesh automaton. If you maintain it well, it will serve you well. And if you constantly neglect it, it will break down faster and more often.
>>77003216>You need to have strong baseline beforehand. Not really. It just takes a year or two of hard training to get significantly muscular unless there's something wrong. If you're 70 there might be but probably not at 50.
>>77003224From the people I know the line is drawn around 40-45 years. I have seen people who turned their fitness life 180 degrees at around 30-35 and it worked well. But, for example, if you can't do a single bodyweight pull up when you're 40, you probably never will. You can't in a year or two suddenly fix the fact that you've been a lazy weak bastard for the better half of your foreseeable lifespan.
>>77003235I managed to get back into being active late 40s (track & field) after doing nothing for 12 years due to health issues. Lost 20kg, all fat. There's a gradual slide in performances 35+ for those that haven't eased off. Unsurprisingly, the later you start back, the longer it takes to get some semblance of decent performance back. Good for your age, anyway.People worry that they won't get back to where they were and use that as an excuse to avoid trying. Well, yes, that's aging. If you can adapt training levels for, and appreciate your progress in light of this slow loss of ability then its far easier to get on with it.My dad died young and my mother is seeing mobility issues, so I am trying delay those. Might as well be doing something I enjoy.
>>77003235>You can't in a year or two suddenly fix the fact that you've been a lazy weak bastard for the better half of your foreseeable lifespan.bullshit :D >>77003000>i have given myself undeniable gastrocnemius doms from bent knee calf raise - bend forward lean onto sth with knees facing each other and bracing into each other meaning in full internal hip rotation and then undulate at the very top of ankle flexionwill help with squat/deadlift/life induced external hip rotationu will feel it as if leg dropped directly beneath you as u step walkingsecond even moar importand squat/deadlift/sedentary life-style thigh and hip imbalance musculature fixing movement is pictured - yes internal hip rotation is love internal hip rotation is life :Dbut also pull back - rubber hooked not directly to the side of you but in front of you also, this will recruit BICEPS FEMORIS even moar and biceps femoris and tfl both internally rotate hip, awesome for IT band issues as wellu always use apt image bot, your image does not depict proper walking :Dit's fear induced anxiety driven gate - that's what the image conveys--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------if what u say holds any water injury requiring cast recovery would be impossible >whoops u broke a leg and u're 40 >limp/wheelchair for the rest of your life fucking ludicrous
>>77003021I will do whatever scooby did
I just tried to get trt but was told don't bother after the bloods came back. At 45 I have the bloods of 20yr old male athlete apparently. I don't even exercise. I've maintained the same weight since I was 16. I'm thinking I need to start c exercising though, not for my muscle strength but to keep my speed and flexibility, my muscle tone hasn't changed much but my knees feel stiff.
>>77003021trying, but as you get older you lack surge energy (heavier lifting for muscle building) and endurance levels drop. I also eat very little and still do not burn fat. At some point it might be worth it to start some type of very light steroids to keep fit/happy.
>>77004044>I'm thinking I need to start c exercising though, not for my muscle strength but to keep my speed and flexibilityI highly recommend you build muscle and endurance now and maintian while you age. You need time to develop the skill, practice, muscle and cardio conditioning. Its much easier to maintain as you get older rather than trying to develop once you hit about 50.
>>77004061Im pretty active, I just don't gym or play sports. I don't think it'll be hard to get physically fit again, I have really high natural T. I started just with my diet and a few supplements about 3 years ago and it's made a huge difference to my health already. Im thinking about just buying an exercise bike and a few dumbbells for arms and chest workout. What do you think?
>>77003021>perfect tan>all hair either waxed or maximally bleached >bright yellow briefs for safety>rice paddy hat>wicked sunglasses>still better body than all of /fit/RIP Hulk
>>77003216>You need to realize this before your 30's or it's a loosing battle after thatAgree 100% except for this. You have time well into your 40s if you more or less didn't go the drain in your youth: no drugs, no smoking, never been fat, occasional alcohol, some cardio here and there, etc.
>>77003021Yes.>>77003043Just pin test
>>77003235Disagree. I was 350 obese as hell fat fuck pounds at 41.Did keto and Starting Strength for a year, lost 125 pounds of fat and got jacked. SS worked for me. About one year later, I statretd doing pullups. I was about 43. Earlier is with no doubt, better. But the right Strength training program can do wonders, even if youre old.
>>77004217Even more impressive in person. Dude was 6'7".
>>77004217He was the real deal. It takes a true man to rock briefs
>>77004083>I don't think it'll be hard to get physically fit againYou will find out when you hit 50, 55, 60. Your maximum strength, maximum cardio output just is not the same. Sure is pump roids you can really increase performance, but natural your body really falls off as you get older.
