>eat anything
>perma-lean
>athletic build
>no joint damage.
why haven't you taken the swimpill?
>>
I would need me own private swimming pool for uninterrupted laps
>>
It selects for these body types mainly, it wont get you one unless you're starting at fucking 8 (which most guys past amateur level are) but the truth is that these guys are genetically wired for that sport just like basketaball and the roids and drugs and diet and the sport itself are only a catalyzer
If you swim a lot you'll get close to your body's version of a "swimmer body" but it will always look like shit, compared to someone built for that kind of activity at least
>>
aha yes just have .1% genetics, spend every conceivable moment training and have endless connections and wealth for designer drugs as well as a personal team of top tier trainers all so you can look slightly better than a common lifter
>>
>>77004581
you only need .1% genetics if you want to be an olympian. Normie swimmers get the same benefits.
>>
>>77004566
Swimmers have an elongated face due to excessive mouth breathing.
Also I'm not even going close to a swimming pool in this weather.
>>
>>77004622
normies swimmers look like your mom that guy has all the things I said and looks a little better than a common lifter with proper nutrition
>>
Mirin neck, but that's about it
>no joint damage
Your shoulders are very delicate, overuse (like swimming) will damage them
>>
Because in order to get the swimmer build it takes swimming your entire life and doing decades worth of intense swimming practice and competing to get to the physique these guys are at. Most people dont wanna do 120 laps a day combined with multiple bodyweight training exercises a week for a decade to get a swimmer build. You could get an equal (or equal enough) type build lifting weights and dieting right in literally 1/5th the time or less.
>>
These guys lift right?
>>
I'm in the pool on a break from some laps right now.
Btw does anyone know of a really good swimming YouTube channel? There's a mexican who seems to be popular but he doesn't break stuff down that much. If you have ever watched Feed the Cats with Tony Holler that's the vibe I'm after: drills, sport specific weightlifting routines, etc. Practical stuff you can actually do yourself (I have a pool, although it's only a bit over 5m long)
>>
>>77004765
Every athlete does, just don't think it's similar to bodybuilding since they want to avoid putting on unecessary weight, it can really slow you down

Hours of daily swimming in chlorinated pools (assuming you have access to one) has its own health drawbacks, too.
Also, you're a child if you think "age" doesn't play a role in "why the Hell do I hurt so much, recently???"

It's crazy watching overweight chicks who swam in highschool/college. You get totally techniquemogged.
>>
>>77005162
*fat
>>
>>77005007
you could also swim in lakes, rivers and the sea
and some new pools use salt instead of chlorine
>>
>>77004579
>>77004630
>>77004708
>>77004793
These. Swimming basically ruins your childhood. The only things I can think of which fuck people up more are gymnastics and ballet. Even then, male gymnasts seem to turn out alright.
>>
>>77005269
>Oh no i get to be tall, athletic, aesthetic and bang swimmer chicks all the time this is horrible !!
Boo fucking hoo
>>
>>77004579
I started at 6 and it served me well. Thanks mom and dad.
>>
A lot of cope in this thread

Swimming mogs
>>
This guy looks too waist heavy for a swimmer. Kind of weird.
>>
>>77005194
Salted pools have chlorine, too.
>>
>>77004566
>No joint damage
False, shoulder injuries are quite common
Injury rates are higher in swimming than in bodybuilding and power lifting
>>
My friend had to quit the swim team because he kept getting boners in his speedo and had a giant cock for his age lol
>>
>>77004566
Swimming is great once you get the rhythm down, you go into a similar place like with a runners high, where you feel like you just cut through the water like a fish. Too bad the pool is always so crowded and once there’s multiple people on the same lane you are forced to go slower and faster and look for a path to pass people and it just becomes unpleasant, but yeah I love swimming.

>>
if you think this guy or any other athlete doesn't lift weights you're a fucking retard op

yeah he doesn't do super heavy bodybuilding type lifting, but you can guarantee he does lift weights, fucking moron
>>
>>77005690
You're American, aren't you?
>>
Is it feasible to have a pool with self cleaning plants and maybe a few fish so you don't need to put chlorine
I know nothing about aquatic plants and fish
>>
>>77005679
I hate swimming so much it’s unreal

Damn and here I was thinking about trying swimming after fucking my shoulder up lifting lol. Obviously your shoulders are used heavily but I figured it being a “natural” movement and being a large range of motion that it would do more good than harm.
>>
>>77005269
>what? having some discipline and getting good at something that'll also benefit my body instead of playing vidya 247? CHILD ABUSE!!!
>>
>>77004579
This. Top athletes are examples of survivor bias, incredible genetics or simple luck, where they had the opportunity to participate in a sport that favors their height/insertions/limb lengths/muscle fiber types, etc.

Gymnastics produces excllent bodies, unless your destined to be Usain Bolt, a 6'3" lanklet with retarded fast twitch muscle fibers. In which case, if you chose gymnastics, youre a nobody who washed out at 13 with blown out sholuders and nobody ever knows your name.

Same with rowing. Great physiques. But if youre destined to be a 5'5" fireplug with explosive vertical leap who should be Olympic Weightlifting, you will become a nobody.

Also, swimming sucks. Take an enjoyable activity like splashing around and turn it into a fight against drowning. No thanks.
>>
>>77004708
Correct. This amount of muscle mass can be achieved on anyone age 15-35, who starts lean and healthy with an average to slightly above average natural ability in about two years of basic barbell traing (three times per wek) along with excellent/careful nutrition.
>>
>>77004566
>no joint damage
It's called swimmer's elbow for a reason. They also get shoulder impingement.
>>
best non-professional hobby swimmers I knew looked surprisingly dyel as if all they did was mild cardio
they swam quite regularly and quite well
>>
>>77005679
My swolf is like 32-35 and my 100yd pace is 2’10.
>>
>>77005679
>>77007530
My fastest 100m is closer to a minute flat but my 2.5km is closer to an hour.
>>
>>77005679
Pretty good pace anon. I swim 100s on descending intervals starting at 2 min so something like
>100 on 2
>100 on 1:55
>100 on 1:50
>repeat x 4

My average 100 pace on those sets is around 1:30. You should try pushing your pace a bit rather than just doing continuous swim at a slower pace.
>>
>>77005679
Also do you flip turn?
>>
>>77004622
>Normie swimmers
but anon i'm subhuman
>>
is it okay to lift and swim on the same day??
>>
>>77007576
That's what I did for a few years. Hit the gym, drive a mile to the beach, then splash around in the surf and swim around the pier. Good times. I miss my surfboard
>>
>>77007604
yeah I plan on hitting the pool before lunch, going out to lunch with my friend and protein maxxing, then lifting weights before bed.

I just started getting into diet and exercise...
I'm like 25lbs overweight and need to lose it.
Trying to lose at least 10lbs in the next month because I might be hooking up with a new girl soon and the last girl I dated didn't like how I looked with my shirt off
>>
>train for 10 years
>get beaten by washed up swimmers who could never make it to pro
If you aren't gifted at it from the start then just give up.
>>
no decent public pools near me
last time I had the opportunity to swim a bunch was in college and I never learned the technique
go post this on roblox if you're trying to recruit teenagers to your gay club or whatever it is you're doing, this isn't really an activity that adults can pick up and get good at
>>
>>77007693
>you can't learn to swim if you're over eighteen
How has defeatism gone so far?
>>
No legs
>>
>>77007824
Or no brain, nice to meet you, hi my name is... I FORGOT MY NAME!
>>
>>77007723
kek this
swimming is like the best non impact exercise for uncs just go fucking do it
>>
I quit decades ago but still have swimmer's shoulder. OHP is not enjoyable.
>>
>>77004566
Too blocky, narrow waist v taper is ideal
