lifting weights is unnecessary. your arms do the same movements when you are doing pull ups and push ups
dumbbell curl = a one arm pull up
the only difference is that you are lifting more weight with a one arm pull up(your body weight)
a bench press = a push up

dumbbell curls are for weaklings who can't do a one arm pull up. lat pull down machines are for people who can't do pull ups

calisthenics are really good for the range where you're strong enough to lift your entire bodyweight but not strong enough that you're doing like 30 reps to failure of pullups

If you're either DYEL or pro they'll be too hard to too easy, but for intermediates it's great

I maxed out fairly hard on calisthenics and translated to like a 175x5 bench and 115x5 press. Maybe even less
