Attempting to "Science!" meal timing is fairly retarded. What matters most is your daily intake of sufficient carbs and protein. There may be a slight advantage to a small/modest amount of immediately pre-workout carbs, probably not a huge benefit to post workout carbs as it interferes with GH release, BUT after a workout is when insulin receptorsw ill also be primed to store lots of glycogen. So maybe.But if eating close to workout makes you feel nauseous, gassy or bloated OR interferes with your workout, then dont. Once again, what matters most is total daily (some argue weekly) nutrition. Get enough high quality protein to build and carbs/fats to fuel.Autistically timing it is a fools errand. UNLESS youre a bodybuilder taking exogeonous insulin, in whch case you better be careful. Insulin can kill waaaaaaay easier than steroids.
You just want enough insulin to spike when you have more muscle cells open to glut4 than otherwise. its a small optimization. don’t sac sleep for a bigger meal. sleep more important than eating.

Having too much in your gut slows you down and impacts your breathing ala your endurance. Protein shake before is great, but don't eat a big meal or you'll get cramps and chest pain (your guts is pushing on your heart dumbass).
