I used to do weighted dips just fine in my early twenties. At 37 I came back to them without weights and caught a nasty case of Costochondritis. Since they're such a great exercise I desperately searched for a solution and found cross bench dumbbell pullovers. I started light and now I do 200 dips or so a week without pain. There are two pullover versions (chest and back) and I do both for a great stretch.
>>
do these really do much to focus lower pec?
my chest looks bad, especially the bottom part
getting stronger with weighted dips, incline, and db pullover (perpendicular to bench) but i think i need to do more
having fat nips / mild gyno doesn't help
was thinking about adding some kind of fly but could try decline
>>
it's probably not too different from benching with an arch

>lower pecs
No such thing. Meme bro science. Variation does help though.

fair enough
is there no way to make the bottom chest line better?
just grow the overall pec larger?
>>
will they give me chest definition or is that just genetics and roids?
>>
same people who shit on decline bench will swear by dips

what about decline benching with an arch

Because of the angle with decline you are hitting the lower pec better than with flat or incline. When i switched to decline i started getting doms lower and when i started going with flys and dumbell presses with an emphasis of a real good wide heavy long stretch at the bottom i am now also hitting inner chest.
