So the consensus is muay thai and kickboxing are best for self defense cuz they give you the most tools and keep you standing. But if say mma and bjj would be cheaper are they still worth something?
>>
Fighting gyms are really good at identifying guys who are spastic or violent and barring them from training. I suspect it won't end well for you if you try to sign up to train.

Where did I say I’m gonna pick random fights out and about you fucking retard?
>>
>>77005840
Staying standing is retarded you're going to go to the ground in a real street fight if you're not learning grappling you're hoping the other guy just doesn't know how to grapple and if you're doing that you might as well be learning karate
>>
>>77005840
Just get a gun and a pepper spray dude
>>
>>77005964
What are the chances a grappler picks fights with randos?
>>77005968
In bongland? Lmao
>>
>>77005984
You can't use pepper sprays in bongland?
>>
>>77005968
Ot's conceal carry in my state but many places dont allow me to carry a gun.

I can bring my gun up to the community college, but that didnt stop a criminal from bringing his and discharging it.

>>

>>77006029

Judo plus soccer: throw them to the ground as hard as you can. If they're still awake, kick them in the head until they aren't. Seriously.
>>
>>77006625
I don't think that's how grappling work's if they are on the ground then chances are you are also close to the ground yourself. Unless you knocked them out or something.

training standup and grappling separately wont properly equip you for any sort of mma. theres a difference between multiple martial arts and mixed martial arts. still, training in multiple disciplines will have you more than equipped to take somebody on one on one even with a bit of a size difference provided youre actually strong and in good shape. if theyre armed or theres more than one youre still most likely fucked. train because you enjoy it not because you want to larp as a badass

All the BJJ salespeople say that all of the time but any rekt thread will show clearly that not only is it likely to be a nog you get into it with but the nogs will come at you with fists of fury at least 60% of the time and are glass jawed weaklings at least 30% of the time.

Kickboxing is boxing with less tools, you aren't going to be doing fancy slipping punching and bobbing and weaving.
You're not that guy pal.

You're going to be throwing haymakers from adrenaline and the guys going to punch/kick/headbutt and grab onto you and all the other shit that's illegal in boxing. Although learning how to throw a good 1-2 is probably the quickest and most effective self defence tool you can learn.

Grappling takes time to learn and is great for getting confident with someone grabbing you/getting out of bad positions and staying calm.

You can learn some basic takedowns relatively quickly. Although pulling them off live is harder than striking someone.

BJJ is amazing if one person surprise attacks you and takes you down. Or if you need to restrain someone completely/permanently

I thought I was a badass because I did boxing for a bit, competed and knocked someone out in my weight class. I tried a bit of MT too nothing serious

Then I tried grappling and after being destroyed you quickly realise to avoid violence irl at any cost unless you absolutely need to, because chances are you're going to have a rough day.

Also most likely you're going to be fighting 2+ people which means you're just surviving, or getting something broken

I encourage you to train anything you can because it'll open your eyes to the reality of fighting

Boxing with more tools*

Go elbow/kick (properly) a bag Vs punching it and see which you think hurts more
>>
>>77005840
>most tools
You don't need more tools to win a street fight
You people who never train but get obsessed with street fights are so fucking annoying
NORMIES CAN'T FIGHT
You'll get harder fights sparring in the gym than you will on the street
Because people in the gym can actually fight
