hello /fit/. I have a neuro-muscular disorder called myasthenia gravis. Essentially my body hates itself and will not allow repeated muscle use.

How would you get fit in this scenario? Currently I am torn between super high rep no intensity (very difficult, struggle to walk for 5-10 minutes without resting) or super high intensity low rep (I can't hoist big weights, maybe 30-40 pounds max). Is there anything else that I am missing? Went to PT and they just kinda scratched their heads and said get a specialist so here I am dr. /fit/.

I'm not a fatty but I can't do normal workouts as my nervous system seizes up after about 5-10 reps and then requires 10-20 minutes to calm down.

what can be done in general for someone who cannot exercise

Your body can't 'allow' you anything. Just do it

Brother not to sound like a reddit nigger but you really should ask your doctor on this one

You said it. Normally I think it's stupid but if your body refuses to be normal.

Imagine being so brainwashed by gym faggots that you go against your body and nature just because you've been gaslit into thinking lifting man made metal up and down would improve your life

my rationale is: because of the disease, I cannot maintain a signal to my muscles to do an activity. Strengthening the muscles would allow a more powerful initial push that I can ride to finish a movement etc. I'm 25 and have potentially had this for ~10 years and would really like to feel young for once.

It's a really rare disease and most docs have to google stuff when I show up. I can get meds easily but no real lifestyle / health assistance.

Do steroids actually improve strength / nerve muscle connection or do they just make you look big?
>>

You say that until your muscles get paralyzed to the point you can't wash your hair or swallow food. That is mostly fixed by meds but now I want to work towards normal strength everywhere else. Want to look and feel good.

Research what strength athletes like Olympic lifters take. There are roids I've only heard of like once in that context.

do people on /fit/ even work out

Get your Thymus removed? I had to google it desu. Without the surgery it looks like any effort at physical fitness would be a waste of your time. Train your brain instead.

Well, take it with a grain of salt but either you train against or with your disease.
As far as I understand, your muscular endurance is shod given your condition, so training low intensity high reps might not help delaying fatigue given that in YOUR case, it is mediated by antibodies. It might help your subjective experience of fatigue.

High resistance low reps may be better, but in the end I would recommend focusing on power/explosivity, which would mean 2-3 sets of 3-5 reps at 40-60% ORM, resting 3-5 min. Really focus on doing the rep fast.
Rest between sets are perhaps even more important for you than others, you should take the time you need. That way, you can delay fatigue in your neuromuscular junction and in your CNS.
Additionally, power, which means rapid force-develoment over a short period of time, is a type of strength that we quickly lose as we age, and it ties in with you wanting to feel young

Psyop of the century. I think it might even have the "holocaust" myth beat.

Lions Mane +psilocyn mushrooms + beta alanine + regular blood letting will eventually cure your heavy metal poisoning induced disease.

what meds are you taking

what do your flare ups look like

Literally this. Go to steroidsourcetalk dot cc and get testosterone. Do maybe 500mg/week.

Steroids make you stronger, especially testosterone.
