Doc told me to take Viibryd. Normally, I would shun SSRIs and psych meds in general, but things are difficult lately. Am I fucked if I agree to it? The other option is Pristiq, which I hear nothing but horror stories about and absolutely refuse to take. It would be nice not to have to deal with the shit it's supposed to treat, but it isn't worth the most horrible potential sides.
>>77008916The effect is, at best, numbness. It doesn't make you happy and of course doesn't address the causes of your depression. SSRIs are the equivalent to spraying febreeze over a rotting corpse. Then there's the side effects, like killing your libido and worse depression when you're off the drug. It's just all around a bad deal.
>>77008927I personally am not interested in SSRIs but you’re spouting some nonsense. You can both denounce SSRI usage while also not having to make up some retarded shit about their subjective effects. Plenty of people have positive experiences with them and it can be life altering. I’m highly dubious of the long term risks myself and don’t care to look into it deeply enough go form a view but even just from anecdotal reports from friends and family you’re wrong. Not everyone is going to respond the same way
