Over the last two month I've undone about six months of progress with weight loss. Went from ~170 to 187. I completely fucked my diet with sweets and slop.

Anyway, I'm meal prepping broccoli salad right now. Gotta get back to it.

The issue is really that my lifestyle changed. I used to go for runs and usually swam at least 1 kilometre every other day. On top of that I ate twice a day. The latter was definitely helped by being on a stimulant. This was my routine and then it fell apart over Christmas.

"Diet and lifestyle" are just the sum of everyday decisions, trends, and the habits you build. OP might have been working on a sustainable diet and good habits and just relapsed. 17 lbs over 6 months is less than 1 lb per week, not like it was a crash diet.

I'd say binge eating tendencies have been an issue of mine since I was a teen. Idle snacking to keep myself occupied and stress eating are a bad mix. On top of that I've gotten into a nasty habit of not cooking anymore.

I've not been tracking my calories at all, but I've probably been consuming an average of 3000-4000 calories each day. Today was particularly bad and made me snap out of things a bit more seriously. Off the top of my head, here is what I put into my body today:

~2l of water
A cheese omelet
A few slices of capocollo
A large coke
A Filet o' Fish
A large thing of fries
A bottle of Gatorade
An entire bag of Doritos

Other days I have found myself eating entire tubs of candy. I buy them with the intention of eating over the span of weeks.

Any reason you have to buy that kind of food at all? Unless you have family or roommates, removing the temptation at the source is better than expecting you will just overcome your nature through willpower. Same with making rules about ordering food - how often and how much you allow yourself to do it. Abstaining may be easier than moderaring for you.

If you're forced to cook or eat raw veggies, it will help not just eat because you want something. But I'd still keep less appetizing stuff that will still suit for quick meal around, or you may reach a breaking point. Canned beans or fish, ground meat that can be quickly done in a pan, pre-prepared batches of cooked chicken breast or hardboiled eggs. Stuff like this (plus lots of veggies) are a lot of my diet, since I have problems like yours.

This stuff may help, but I'd strongly recommend sorting out your mental stuff that's at the root of the issue. Otherwise it will be likely to happen again when things get hard.

What you suggest is what I've done in the past. I've been down recently as my girlfriend is away for school and I've been stressed about a number of things.

There's no excuse for buying garbage. Today I completely ignored my fridge full of actual food and bought slop anyway. The only thing that I can blame the grocery store Jew for is putting candy in the produce section.
