>eat this
>no don't eat carbs!
>you gotta move
>no don't move so much you have to rest!
>your workouts lack intensity
>YOU'RE GOING TO INJURE YOURSELF
>being healthy is cheaper than being unhealthy
>×1.5g protein per kg
>You need to lose weight in order to feel better
>Lol, you're in a 500 caloric deficit. No wonder you feel like shit
>women don't care and you really won't feel any better if you're fit. Who are you doing this for? Nobody wins.
>DON'T EAT BREAD
>drink more water it's going to change your life I promise.
And I think the list goes on and on.
>>

It's only complicated if you listen to every fearmonger and keto schizo. Just track your workouts and calories.
>>
>>77101440
>track your workouts and calories
These 5 words can become very very complicated once you Actually start tracking.
>>
>>77101437
Yeah there's a bunch of stuff you need to figure out. Along with all of this info you need to figure out what works for you and whether people are lying to you

If it makes you feel better, most people can't deal with it and just stop as soon as their work life gets busy. Maybe in the back of your mind there will be this voice about whether you should have tried harder or maybe you should get back to it. But you can just ignore that. You weren't that great physically to begin with, and your wife doesn't need you to be in shape because you have a good job and you're a good father.
>>
>>77101473
Ι don't have a job or a wife or a child
>>
>>77101483
Well then you have no excuse
>>
>Eat protein
Lift heavy shit
Its really that simple.
>>
>>77101490
No excuse ok. Still feeling like shit. Maybe I need medicine or death.
>>
>>77101437
I don’t understand your point about protein, lean ground beef, chicken, eggs, whey, etc are all cheaper than bags of chips and cookies or whatever junk fat retards eat. I also don’t think tracking calories is even that necessary just weight yourself twice a day, average it out over a week and compare with the following weeks average. If you gained weight don’t eat as much, if you lost weight (and that’s the goal) then keep doing what you’re doing.
>>
>>77101492
Maybe you would benefit from reframing the issue. You don't need to understand everything right now. You don't need to get everything right now. You're on a journey, like the rest of us, to figure out what works for you.

Part of the enjoyment is trying new things, getting new ideas and seeing how you go. If everything was obvious from the start it would be boring.
>>
>>77101498
It's cheaper to eat pasta with legumes than eggs everyday. Quality foods are getting more and more expensive meanwhile wages stay the same
>ask for more
Easu thng kthx
>>
>>77101499
I've been lost for years, but I guess you're right.
>>
>>77101504
Even that's not really a huge deal. I spent ten years unable to bench because of shoulder issues. I just found stuff I could do so I could get something out of it fitness and then one day it clicked why I was getting injured and now everything is easier.

Sounds like you're a bit overwhelmed but it also sounds like you're being affected by this idea of optimization, like if you don't get it right, right now, you've failed somehow. I like to think of progress as being better than you were the day before. And that can sometimes be getting stronger but it cal sometimes mean just learning something new.
>>
>>77101437
Go back to the basics and stay there, that's what I do.
>Eat well balanced diet
>Ruck march as a workout
>If you play sport, wear a weighted vest
Weighted vests are fantastic tools, but the point is rucking of any kind is literally a full body workout mixed in with cardio.
You make your ligaments and tendons stronger if you don't go too heavy or for too long
>>
>>77101501
A dozen eggs was $2.19 before tax for me yesterday. Even if you make the absolute bare minimum wage in the US you could get almost 3 dozen for working one hour. Id rather pinch pennies on something other than my food personally.

>Find a workout that targets each muscle group (like a dozen)
>Write how many you do, along with how much weight
>Add weight as necessary
Wow, I can't, this is just so much, I just
>Download calorie tracker
>Type in each meal, snack, and beverage (besides water) you consume
How many steps even is that? I don't know I can't count that high. My head is spinning. Wait, does that include dinner? What's a "app"?

anyone who thinks fitness beyond the novice level is simple is retarded at worst and disingenuous at best
>>
>>77101518
>just fuck my joints up bro
>>
>>77101577
What is so complicated about it? Just eat real foods and lift the weights a few times a week. There really isn’t much more too it
>>
>>77101585
yeah, that basic principle works if you want to bench 225 as a one rep max, not if you want to be actually impressive naturally before getting old first
not like you would know
>>
>>77101589
Bro, look around sometime. 2pl8 bench is better than 98% of people out there. Start with the basics, THEN work your way up by min/maxing. Being paralyzed at the starting line is retarded and worse than those boomers that just take up space in the gym fucking around.
>>
>>77101597
>THEN work your way up by min/maxing
so you're admitting.. it is actually complicated?
>2pl8 bench is better than 98% of people out there
you're not competing with 98% of people. you should compare to people who actually lift and have been doing it for a long time.
imagine being a shitty athlete with a great vertical. you jump higher than 99.95034584058345% of people but if you lose every game you still aint shit
>>
>>77101589
Well you skipped a fair bit of middle ground between “novice” and “actually impressive” now didn’t you? That basic principal I said will get you to the top 95%.
>>
>>77101602
top 95% means nothing and it's a cope. raise your standards.
by drinking clean water and not being fat you're healthier than whatever goofy percentage of the world.. doesn't mean much on an individual level
>>
>>77101607
>anyone who thinks fitness beyond the novice level is simple is retarded

That’s what you said, I’m just telling you there is a wide gap between novice and “actually impressive” as you put it. This has nothing to do with my own standards or who you’re stronger than. You simple made a dumb argument and I pointed it out.
>>
>>77101612
i clearly said beyond the novice level, because it's complicated to GET to that point
nothing retarded about that at all
>>
>>77101617
There’s like 5 levels between novice and actually impressive and eating right and lifting the weights will take ypu through all them. It will take you about 95% of the way there like I said
>>
>>77101620
>im plateauing on my weighted pull-up, how do i get past it?
jUsT eAt RiGhT and LiFt hEaVy
>how do i get around this muscle imbalance?
jUsT eAt RiGhT and LiFt hEaVy
>how do i get around this lift which im focusing on that incurs a lot of fatigue so i can progress more next week?
jUsT eAt RiGhT and LiFt hEaVy

do you see how retarded this is?
>>
>>77101630
Yeah all those things can be overcome by doing exactly that unless you have shit tier genetics I guess.
>>
>>77101633
Id add in getting good sleep and letting yourself rest properly between hard workouts in fairness
>>
>>77101633
yeah you're retarded
>>
>>77101639
Okay so you’ve plateaued on your weighted pull-ups. Besides diet, training, and rest, what is your genius level secret that I’m too retarded to understand?
>>
>>77101437
its not complicated.
eating: everything that tastes like fun is bad
working out: push yourself by increasing volume or weight each workout
be consistent. everything else is fluff
>>
>>77101642
adding in other variations, drop sets, frequency with lower weight, focusing on weak points that would be subjective based on the individual lifter for example
i might give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you actually understand these things just on a subconscious level, or you're a gigadyel who has never actually had to apply himself to get around these problems that will always happen to anyone trying to progress to any respectable level
>>
>>77101649
>adding in other variations, drop sets, frequency with lower weight, focusing on weak points

Ok I see your point, I was working under the assumption that this just fell under training. I think we’re pretty much on the same page here just neither of us were spelling it out very well. My bad for calling your argument dumb anon
>>
>>77101437
Because lifting appeals to simpletons and losers, what do you expect from such community
>>
>>77101589
Lol neurotic retard
>>
>>77101437
>listening to the internet for training advice
ngmi
>>
>>77101589
No one is natty and impressive.
>>
>>77101437
This is why I ignore everyone and just do what works for me

>meal prep so I know what i'm eating
>intermittent fasting so I don't deviate
>push/pull split 5 days a week
