I've been looking through a few "1 year transformations" and a lot of them look as if they've been training for 5 years.

Now, I do understand that people with good physiques/results would be more inclined to share their results but from what I've seen, most people manage to improve their body substantially in a year which wasn't the case for me. I still look skinny fat with gyno and love handles (mostly genetic due to me having a small ribcage and wide illiac crest). The strength gains are noticeable though

Like, you won't look like one of those roid bros on instagram but you're still supposed to look decent after 1 year. Do your compounds (always) and push the weight up. If you can bench your body weight and squat/diddie more than that for at least 3 sets of 5 or more reps you should look okay.

I'm mainly doing weighted pull ups and dips. Currently coping with 23kg but I'm afraid that once I get into 30kg territory my wrists will snap. I have 5.5 inch wrists idk if it's a meme or not.

Bro, just do bench+squat and ohp+diddie 3x5 (with ramp-up and down set ofc) until you can do your bodyweight on the first 2, 50kg on ohp and maybe 1.5-2x your bodyweight on deadlift + whatever accessories you want (like dips and pull-ups). Just make sure the compounds are your core exercise and you do them fresh.

What's the obsession with compounds lol? Plenty of people that have built well-rounded physiques with calisthenics alone (not even weighted ones). If you look like shit with calisthenics, you'll look like shit with regular barbell stuff as well. Besides, I don't fancy the idea of paying 40 quid a month just to stare at pajeets hogging all the machines.
