I've been eating TVP lately and I'm wondering
Why is the fitness online community in general sleeping on this?

This shit is great
>high protein (50g per 100g dry) and its a complete protein
>high fiber soluble and insoluble for guthealth and good shits
>decent micros like magnesium, phosphorous, copper, folate
>almost 0 fat, absolutely insane if you just need to get more protein at minimum calories while still eating normal food
>can make it taste any way you want cause its flavour neutral

Personally I just throw them into instapot stews or dry into salads but there's a billion of recipes on ways to prepare them

>tvp
Idk this is. You're supposed to explain what the letters mean the first time you say the abbreviation.
>inb4 just google it or you launch into personal attacks because you cant handle being called out when you screwed up
No need for that anon.

its some chemical sludge made from söy

Tvp is the name of it, stands for textured vegetable protein I believe
It’s basically defatted onions chunks, dehydrated to be stored easily
Oh yeah I forgot the main reason I started to use them is cause they are dirt cheap for the protein you get

Gross.
>>77104536
Still gross.

industrial waste s.o.y.
>>
>>77104540
Tasty actually

>>77104541
It’s not waste, it’s the end product of soii

kek

soi is complete protein?
>>
>>77104395
Sounds like an absolute scam
>>
>cheap
>vegan
i been eating it, anon
>>
>>77104716
it's on par with lentils for cost per protein, but it's pure protein unlike lentils. people have a poor impression of it which contributes to its cheapness. whey is about twice as expensive, maybe more these days.

I am sure that veganism has done more harm to veganism than anything else, people don't like soii because of vegans probably
I am certain that if veganism from ethics didn't exist people would eat more soii and other plant alternatives to meat just because of how good and cheap they are

very likely true
militant vegans ruined the concept of vegetables for thousands, millions of americans
my mom wouldn't eat a potato if i told her it was vegan
