Quick rundown.>started as cpt for years>went to college for kinesiology>finished state coach education program (basically injury prevention, first aid, cpr, very short)>work as coaching assistant and eventually middle school coach>keep applying to small town high school, keep getting turned downFrom here, I was going to apply to an athletic training program, but they're so fucking expensive it's ridiculous. So I turned to getting my CSCS hoping I could break out of my town. What a fucking disappointment. I remember hearing how important it was to have your CSCS by people for years. >nobody hiring any coach for any school knows what the fuck a CSCS is>nobody hiring non-physical therapy/occupational therapy type roles knows what CSCS is>those that do seem to know what a CSCS is are hiring athletic trainers, physical therapists, physiatrists, and similar roles and do not actually require CSCS certificationI found like 3 job postings in the entire state that wanted a CSCS certification for non-medical field personnel, and all 3 have it as "preferred" not required. On top of that, 2 of these jobs are $20-22/hr, less than I made as an assistant coach. If I look out of state, I've found some that want a CSCS (or similar) certification, but also require you to be a certified athletic trainer or hold a 4 year degree in a fitness related field (I do) with over 5 years of experience with strength and conditioning. It feels like this cscs holds less weight that my personal training certification...

Fitness certifications are largely a fucking joke.
