do you go to failure? i mean REAL failure, not volitional failure like almost everyone does
>>77146675I mean. What even is that? I go until I need help, then do 2 or 3 more. Sometimes on the way back up (benchpress) I will involuntarily drop it. Is that failure?
>>77146709it's when the bar/machines literally will not move anymore despite *maximum* effort. a lot of people don't know what actual maximum effort is, and think they're going to failure i find it very easy to do most machine stuff to failure, but other things (like pendulum/hack squat) i have to actually dig very deep to find that last bit of effort and it's not something i can psychotically do every set
>>77146721>psychotically i meant psychologically jesus christ
>>77146675Yes I die everyday in the gym
>>77146675Yes. It's not hard. I just go until I can't complete a rep.>>77146709No. >>77146721>*maximum* effortThe brain only generates enough effort to move the bar. Failure in the conventional sense is simply diminished capacity for effort below that required to move the bar. Moreover there's also the muscle cells being flooded by calcium ions which interfere with the contractions. The only way to produce maximum effort is by doing your true 1RM. Force production is the relevant definition of effort here btw.
im nearly 40 and live with my mother so yeah im getting there
sometimes.however, if you want to be a cunt about it your gym-failure is probably not your true failure. how amped you are determines your max and I feel like it varies from workout to workout. sometimes I can become a frothing demon and sometimes I just can't muster that energy. if you needed to do one more rep to save your loved ones you probably could.
>>77146675
>>77146904>D's in the Jew
>>77146675real failure would be to the point of hurting yourselfdips until your arms give out and you fall on your knees. that would true failure
>>77146961that would be*
>>77146721> despite *maximum* effortIf you're not dumping fear-of-death adrenaline into your system and ripping your muscle inserts off the bone in overexertion on every set, you're not really "going to failure".
real, absolute, complete failureWhy do we put old school strongmen measuring their bodies to look like a perfect sculpture and sin and inferiority complexes made flesh under the same word to describe them?is this even bodybuilding at all?how is this building your body rather than just breaking it to look like an industrial farm chicken?I'm not shitting on it or anything, people can do whatever they want, but "bodybuilding"???you give your everything in the gym, then eat, sleep, pin and grow until you recover, then you do it again for 10 years if injuries and health in general don't stop you, and you look like a cock ringed dog boner with tumors on it...and along that time you are basically always resting or meal prepping and are worthless for anything else, because you basically walk around with DOMS or weakened until the next workout or prep for said workoutand you probably neglect flexibility and cardiovascular health to min max sizeso how exactly are you building your body? If I pile bricks I'm not building a house no matter how many I toss or how many people sleep on it afterwards. If you can't do shit with your body day to day then it's body destruction. Call it that, I bet they'll think is cool and badass. Like Crossfit and people boasting about protein in piss and kidney issuesIf you suck at doing basic shit in your life because you are an immobilised bag of rocks covered in foreskins then you didn't build shitZyzz could dance around, Paulo Costa and Gane can beat your face in any day, Brock Lesnar can do shows every day, even LIGHTWEIGHT BABYYYY could sort of be a cop even if basically deformed by massIf you are worthless outside of the gym you aren't a bodybuilder you are just a big ol' queer
No, that’s stupid as fuck
