What’s for dinner, /fit/?

For me, it’s tossed salad and scrambled eggs.

Many such cases.

Texture is probably more important than flavor for how delicious something is. Good texture is what makes you want to have another bite.

Whining about "bad texture" is what's childish.

Your ignorance is astounding; I never said anything about anything “feeling weird” in my mouth. I stated that texture variance is more important than flavor when it comes to how delicious something is.

Take oatmeal for example. Oatmeal is just fine plain, but adding nuts or dried fruit easily doubles or triples how yummy it is.

If it's all about texture, why not dump a few ice cubes into your oatmeal? That's a hell of a texture profile, ain't it?

I didn’t say anything about flavors. Flavor comes with added texture so obviously you need to put a little thought into that but the point is the texture is what makes the difference
>put ice cubes into the oatmeal
Oh. You’re literally retarded.
>>77148189
>10 different sauces to mask the bitterness
You’re not “masking” the bitterness by balancing things, but yeah, you need to balance the flavors. Can you point out the ten different sauces or this “bitterness” that needs masking?

I’m calling you a fat retard because that’s clearly what you are. I am not fat and have never been fat, nor will I ever be fat :)
>>
>>77148217
>I didn’t say anything about flavors.
You said texture is more important than flavor, and wrongly used an example of adding flavor to try and illustrate that
>Oh. You’re literally retarded.
I suppose sidestepping questions and just resorting to ad hominems is certainly one way to respond to warranted criticism
>>
>>77148232
Texture IS more important than flavor. Your ice quip was asinine and didn’t deserve any actual consideration. The flavor is just an added bonus from the primary function of the nuts or dried fruit.

I’m not sure if you know this or not, but virtually all food has some kind of flavor. You could add jam or peanutbutter and it would not be as yummy as adding nuts or dried fruit. That’s the point, you’re just a fat fucking retard so you missed it completely.

>Texture IS more important than flavor.
So if I gave you the option between a mix of textureless foods with varying flavors, or a mix of flavorless foods with varying textures, you'd choose the latter?
>Your ice quip was asinine
Boohoo, I said something impolitely on the internet
>You could add jam or peanutbutter and it would not be as yummy as adding nuts or dried fruit.

>>
>>77148286
Yes, if I were tasked with eating a bowl of something that had no flavor but good texture vs crazy flavors and no texture, I’d choose the former. Texture is what makes you want to eat more of something, your mouth gets burnt out on intense flavor without good texture.

Foie gras for example, or any pate. Tons of flavor. But after a bite or two, you’re done with it. Add some crispy/chewy bread, you can eat a lot more of it before getting tired of the food. Iceberg lettuce is another good example of texture without flavor; shreddy iceberg on a sandwich or burger sets it off.

The ice quip wasn’t impolite, it was asinine. You’re not very smart, you just like arguing.

I’m sorry you’re offended by how food and eating works. Normal people enjoy varied textures in their food, with autism spectrum retards vastly preferring homogeneous gruel because the texture is “yucky” when their foods touch :)

makin chili tonight, about 80g of protein per meal, I make enough for 5 evenings.

Eat it with nacho tortillas, probably adds another 5g in total. The first evening I eat it without cheddar, subsequent evenings I add cheddar on top to offset any sense of "oldness" I get from reheating, those are probably another 10-15g of protein each.

I'll post some chili progress pics once I get started tonight.

Early in the day I cut up sweet onion, shallots, scallions and red paprika, and put it in a glass tupperware with smoked paprika powder, chipotle powder, cumin powder, cayenne and black pepper powder. Shake it up and fridge it for a few hours.

Fry it up with some tomato paste and olive oil, at the end I add my homemade chili oil (chili flakes, bay leaf, tarragon, oregano, cumin, thyme).
