mens physique sucks now. it used to be a look, now its basically just open with a low weight cap and shorts. classic has the same problem. guys like mike sommerfeld just look like open body builders. theres nothing classic there. and we already have 212 which is just open for manlets. so there are zero aesthetic divisions now.

why does all body building devolve into open/mass monsters? do we need to make them wear jeans or something to keep the mass monsters out

That's the logical conclusion of all sports and sport-adjacent practices
You have very strict but also vague rulesets that are exclusive to entertainment and reductionist, and people start min-maxxing within these rules to cheese wins as much as possible. You can see it with MMA where everyone became a takedown defense bjj counter puncher in response to dagestani dominance, same for boxing after mayweather. This is normal in very specialized olympic sports like track where 0,001s matters but everyone now is taking that approach.
If you want to compete in BB, you have to be big like your competitors or bigger or else you're not even noticeable. You can just come looking like a peptides curlbro and expect the senile jewish refs to give you a win for being avant-garde and thinking outside the box or being entertaining/aesthetic.

its just that mens physique wasnt intended to be this at inception therefore, if it is just open guys in shorts then its not what it used to be and doesnt really need to exist.
>>
no cool hair cuts, no cool shorts, all way too fucking big, winner is just the bigger of the only two with good waists. these are just classic div flunkies. prime buendia couldnt even stand on this stage, which sucks because he looked great.
>>
buendia looks like shit now. just bloated. kill this division already if it cant be what it was intended to be.

this is just sad, they are way too big. people in bodybuilding are so mentally ill and dysmorphic
>>

>Classic but no biceps or legs
>>
Why the fuck do they wear swim trunks? Looks so retarded
>>

Maybe it's color vs B&W photos, but these guys look around Golden Era size yet genuinely aren't as aesthetics. Legs disproportionately small but that's not it, I think it's disproportionately large delts.

Fucking weird how the steroids of today really do produce a 200 lbs guy whose delts are radically bigger than a 200 lbs bodybuilder in 1980.

it was just part of the vibe. like an ultimate beach body competition. more male model than mass monster. a different type of idyllic than the other divisions.

SBFF (Sweden) has "athletic fitness" as a division which is a pretty good concept

It's
1) Posing
2) Strength = chins and dips
3) Endurance = rowing or obstacle course (was usually rowing)

It has diminished now but it premiered good classic looking physiques

bump?

I agree. It's the manlets that are ruining it imo, I think the solution is to have height classes as well as weight. 5'7" to 6'1" is the peak height for aesthetics imo, I always hated that look of blocky 5'2" manlets who are pure muscle but lack any balance or symmetry, look like fridges.

Something needs to be done about the judges too, they're constantly rewarding the wrong type of physiques

what is it about manlets that you can instantly tell they're manlet independent of any frame of reference? is it head size relative to body? torso to leg ratio? i instantly clocked OP's pic as such

Nah fuck off faggot. It was going in the good direction being aesthetic bodybuilding, then they fucked it up again with weight caps. It should be a sport, not a subjective homosexual beauty contest.

Fr I always thought delts were the one muscle that could never be too big but it actually doesn't look good here

V interesting

The AAU in the US used to make guys compete in another event too if they wanted to do bodybuilding, so many guys just did weightlifting too.

Paying attention to this makes you a faggot.

Bodybuilding is innately gay. It's a beauty pageant where men try to look pretty for other men. It's widely known and reported that gay men prefer more muscular men than straight women. This is why bodybuilding of any kind leads to mass monsters while the kind of men women actually find attractive (models and strippers) look so "small" they'd be laughed out of any bodybuilding competition.

When it comes to male muscularity, female desire is an inverted U while male desire is just linear.

Look up steroid use among homosexuals if you're still not convinced.
