>1/2/3/4
No one is going to be impressed by that
Where would you put the threshold for actual, impressive strength for someone training at a commercial gym?
>>
Post body.
>>
>>77148607
0.5/1.5/2/3
>>
1/2/3/4 is for fat powershitters.
at my weight benching 225 would put me in the top 76%
>>
1.5/3/4/5.5
If you are sub 200 lbs
Else higher
>>
>>77148666
>he's not in the top 76%
How embarrassing
>>
>>77148607
1xbw/1.5xbw/2xbw/2.5xbw

If you're a 6 foot chad king alpha it is more than enough. If you are a 5'11 midgetlet you have to shoot at least double those numbers to be just as impressive as the 6 foot chad because levrujuhs and sheit.
>>
>>77148607
Nobody cares how much you actually lift. That being said 1/2/3/4 is a good benchmark for the majority of the population.
>>
>>77149207
1234 is what "they" estimate Henry Cavill was at in Man of Steel. It's not enough to look like you lift if you're a boatlard like most of /fit, but for anyone with the merest hint of visible abs it's plenty.
>>
>>77148607
1/2/3/4, for 5 reps, natty, and not a fatass
That's as good a standard as any.
>>
>>77148607
>1/2/3/4
>No one is going to be impressed by that
You're stronger than 99.9% of the earths 8.3 billion people if you can lift 1/2/3/4. In a room with 1000 people you're stronger than 999 of them, in a room with 10,000 people only 9 other guys are as strong or stronger than you. Then again if you want to look at it another way if you can 1/2/3/4 there are about 8.3 million people as strong or stronger than you.

Social media has caused crazy looks/lift attention inflation. 1/2/3/4 as a general guide for what to try to achieve as a beginner lifter is just fine. That's a great general guideline for proficiency in strength and makes you generally a strong person. Are there higher echelons to aim for after? Absolutely, but like you said 99% of people dont even hit 1/2/3/4 strength levels in thier lifetime. That puts you head and shoulders above nonlifters and firmly in the lower level of dedicated lifters.

Comparing yourself to people who have 5+ years of lifting over you or these tiktok 19 year olds blasting gear till they keel over from a heart attack to bench 315 is foolish.

Ah, yes, this old fallacy
Get this: most people in their 20s,30s or 40s don't want to compare themselves to teenagers or geriatrics, or malnourised Indians

Note OP "at a commercial gym" - THAT's the group we're running our statistics on
>>
>>77148666
Aka you're the 24% who cant bench 225
>>
>>77149666
>most people in their 20s
Dont want to compare themselves to wahsed up people in past their 30s.
>>
>>77148666
>at my weight
Lmmmmaaaoooooooooooooo
Manlet detected
>>
>>77149676
Correct, hence the stupidity in using figures that applies for a general populace
The zoomers and geriatrics are pulling the figures down
>>
>>77148607
>worried about being "impressive"
Insecurity will sabotage everything you do in your life. Stop being a child and trying to impress your daddy figures.

1/3/4/5 on the bar will catch normies attention. Doing a single rep on bench press with 3pl8s will draw more attention than doing lmao2pl8s for 20 reps simply because 3pl8s is a rare sight—but that's for normies, 2+/4+/5+/6+ on the bar will have every person constantly trying to talk to and befriend you at the gym. And when you lift that heavy complete strangers who are jacked will give you automatic respect, head nods, thumbs up, and let you work in on anything.
>>
>>77149719
>lmao2pl8s for 20 reps
Nobody is benching 225 for 20 reps.

Good to see /fit/ is still the most delusional board.
>>
>>77148607
80kg ohp
120kg benchpress
150kg squat
150kg deadlift
only powersharters care about deadlift and noone is impressed by a fatass picking up bahbell in socks and sumo stamce looks fucking gay and srupid even if there is 200kg on the bahbell
>>
>>77149739
You sound upset, breath in, calm down and try to reformulate your sentence again
>>
>>77149729
nobody is counting your reps retard, people just look at the weight on the bar
>>
>>77148607
At a commercial gym 99% of people are pitifully weak. I’d say a 225 bench for 5 reps and a 315 squat for 5 would blow their minds.
>>
>>77148607
>worried about impressing strangers at the gym
You and your stupid thread here are never going to make it. I surmise that you will either quit lifting or have never lifted and are an Indian jam boy spammer.
>>
I did 60kg OHP and 95kg bench while 70kg looking complete DYEL so idk

I can do 90kg ohp, 150kg bench. Dyel as fuck, it never ends.

How big you look depends entirely on your genetics or the shit you inject.

You can get really strong purely by just having good nervous system, good coordination, good muscle recruitment.
There is a good chance your body is just very efficient at using the muscle mass it has. On the other hand there are guys who look pretty jacked, but then you watch them do something like bench and they struggle with 2pl8 for 10 reps.
>>
>>77149855
Makes sense
I also close the captains crunch 1.5# now at 68kg DYEL while this dude I know who benches 120kg struggled with 1# so you onto something
>>
>>77149729
I can do 10 pretty easy is 20 really that impressive?
>>
>>77150082
nope. don't take DYEL propaganda for real

>no one is going to be impressed by that
Normies absolutely will
For people into fitness, 2/3/4/5 is where it starts to get mires if you can do it for reps. I agree though, you should post body with timestamp
>>
>>77148607
only true general measurement of strength is how much you can lift your own body. true form pull-ups is probably the best indicator
>>
>>77148607
if you want to look like you actually lift then you should be hitting advanced numbers on:
>bicep curl
>reverse curl
>wrist curl
>overhead tricep extension

>>77149855
>doesn't do isolation exercises
>is whining about MUH GENETICS
>>
>>77148607
Benching 3+pl8s probably, a lot of people who can squat 5pl8s are not exactly having am easy time benching 4pl8s. I want to be benching 5pl8s like nothing and that's all I ask for.
>>
>>77151546
You forgot big bowling ball shoulders and defined pecs, lat raises and cable flys
>>
>>77148607
1/2/3/4 is still reasonable for commercial gyms, lifting heavy isn't the primary goal if half of the floorspace is dedicated to treadmills and ellipticals
a 2/3/4/5 or a 1250 barbell club is a good measure for home gyms or more specialized gyms. ultimately, don't get hung up on numbers or comparing yourself to someone on social media, just work on being better than you were last month
>>
>>77151501
>>77149161
lol
being a 5'10" 180 lbs twink soaking wet will never impress anyone
