Why is this shit shilled so hard?

People claim it has literally zero side effects and downsides but it makes me feel like I have to pee every 30 minutes when I'm on it. It took me a while to realize it was creatine that was making me get up every hour at night to use the bathroom. That problem went away when I stopped it. Is there a brand or formulation of creatine without this major problem?

Might be placebo but I feel like I need less time between sets when I'm using creatine especially on full body compound stuff. No downside beside gaining a few pounds of water maybe but I don't really see it

I think creatine supplementation increases the body water need, so you end up drinking (consciously or not) more, therefore peeing more often. This is particulary a problem if you train during the evening hours and dont keep note of how much you drink (most of us don't ofc). You might be drinking more than you think and it takes time for body to process it, so you end up with several night wakings, crappy sleep and no power on the next morning. At least this was my experience too. I did stop creatine in the end, but mostly because it's not that cheap where I live and the overall impact felt small.
