are those high end/expensive gyms like equinox worth the cost? why are they so expensive?I know on the other end of the spectrum there are those gyms that are like $10/mo and they are a toss up since the barrier to entry is so low. Is there a good middle ground for gym quality and price?
>>77152657No
>>77152657Purely comes down to the clientelle. When i lived in a 99% white town I went to a £15 a month basic gym and it was great. Now i live somewhere with niggers and browns I pay £200 to avoid them.Gym experience is the same but that’s how it is.
All you need is a barbell and weights realistically speaking, everything else is quality of lifeBy paying a really high price you get some dubiously useful fancy shit, but what you're paying for in actuality is belonging to the brand and being around other pretentious antisocials
equinox is for rich people to meet one another and for wealthy fit gays to have sex in the locker rooms. not worht it if you just want to get buff
>>77152657Go do a day pass and find out for yourself. Why would you listen to people on here?
I got fucking tired of having constant arguments with niggers who never put weights away or deracked so decided to pay $350 a month for my gym. Unfortunately there are still occasional jeets and one or two niggers who don’t do any exercise but just patrol around any girls working out.
>>77152657it depends on the location not all equinoxes are the same also equinox isnt the top dog of luxury gyms anymore my only gripe about EQX is they usually don't have enough new machines but its very clean and respectful
>>77152657Depends what the thing you are judging the "worth" of. If all you intend to do is lift, probably not. The equipment will be a lot nicer, and you'll have less people overall to deal with, but that's it.
>>77152800Can’t really lift when you have to wait 20 mins for a bench in a cheap gym
>>77152657They’re gyms for people that dont want to be around poor people
honestly when you consider what country clubs cost I would say that equinox is still cheap as shit. 200 bucks a month is a small price to pay to not be surrounded with minorities
>>77152657>why are they so expensive? To filter out poors. It's not about quality, it's paying a premium to keep the min wage joe away.
>>77152657I was able to leech off a $150 a month gym from my aunt's work place amenities and a lot of people go there just to hang out. I'll see people in the lounge studying or just chatting for hours. My aunt says some of her gym friends don't even exercise and just talk to each other in the sauna. I also go to a $20/month gym and it's less about being social. The 150/month is much nice and cleaner but I wouldn't pay for it since all I do is free weights
>>77152663this guy nigvoids
>>77152696You you prefer to slide off 3+pl8s or to have them leaned? I do not care that someone is gonna play dumb and sue the gym if they were that stupid they shouldn't be allowed near equipment thatn can kill them or others. You might as well run a lap around the gym between sets so that you can't sue the gym for having poor cardiovascular health.
>>77152818Rich people typically hog all the space in poor gyms by colleges to try and pick up women hoping they have an only fans driving their nice car. It's a complete nightmare, a 1hr session takes 2hrs minimum at my local gym and they don't open up a 2nd one. It's more of a swingers club and prostitution front than a gym at this point.
>>77152663People drive from all around the city to my local gym like it's some kind of fuck club and it's absolutely dead at night on any given day because nobody is there to lift.
>>77152800the most high-end place I've gone to was a lifetime fitness gym on a friend's day pass when my gym was getting remodeled and I looked it up after membership there was about 2 hundo a month. The biggest thing I noticed is the equipment was way better it was all eleiko barbells/weights and there were 6+ racks and it was way less crowded compared to the LA fitness I was going to at the time. also they had nice punching bags the ones at my old gym were always shittily set upmy LA fitness after the remodel got a bunch of rogue equipment and they went from 3 to 6 racks but it was always more crowded and I ended up moving anyway. I would consider going to a gym that's more high end just so I can use better equipment and not have to wait but I am also paying for a muay thai gym membership so I am already paying a lot per month on gym fees
