Should I feel ashamed that I am doing band assisted pull ups and barely 10 at that. Am I just a coward and a fraud. I have been working out for like a month consistently? Can I actually to go band free and seize my masculinity soon?

that's a good sign, i mean i know it works - the elbowing to the side, not archer pull wherein you roll scapula back to spine, no - elbowing where you pull from the side and both elbow and shoulder goes out
and chicken wing in this movement - does upper traps and mid delt in addition of rear delt from elbowing
but your "kiss rape" analogy bot is intriguing
so pull (rubber of course, what else :D from chest height with with shoulder protraction to the face - fixed face-pull :D
there's also compression component right - like holding the head of the victim of forced kisses?

and traps - shrug with tucked chin and protracted shoulder, i think, i've been infatuated with protracted shoulder movements recently and traps keep accidentally growing

Try them with lighter-ish dumbbells to nail the proper ROM. Focus on pinching your shoulder blades together for tension and pull them through your body at around bellybutton height. Also roll your forearms about halfway through like you're trying to break a stick in half. Once you get that mind muscle connection, the barbell row will feel better. I do find that I have to lift much heavier with barbell rows than I do with dumbbell rows to feel the same level of stretch, though.
